I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  
Like I stated in the past responses, our second garage door (identical opener) started doing the exact thing a couple weeks later- when we pushed the open button it would hum for a second or two then start flashing. This time we called a reputable garage door company and they examined the opener and found that the capacitor was bad which cost us about $100. We told them the other door started doing this a few weeks ago and the other company (your company) claimed without examining the opener that it was definitely a bad main board which cannot be replace and said our only option was to pay for a brand new opener. The reputable company said that your company just took advantage of us.

customer had a second garage door opener that starting having issues and he had his neighbor come over and fix it for $100. Our company gives the best prices we can, but we can not match up to a "buddys" price.
Customer has a 5 year warranty on the opener we installed. That means if the opener malfunctions in the next 5 years our company will come out and replace it for free.

Often times repairing the opener can be as costly as relacing the opener, but with no guarantee of work. so replacement of opener was recommended by our garage door expert, nothing misleading about that.

We fully intend to honor your warranty but will not refund you for the opener.

Bottom line- your opener was shot, it needed to be replaced so we replaced it. Can't see the logic in refunding you for an opener that is installed and working properly in your home.

You cannot state our opener was shot truthfully because you did not exam it. When you witnessed it stop working and would only hum for a second then flash you stated "like it was common knowledge" that it was the main board failed and those are not able to be replaced and we will have to replace the entire opener. Our other door opener did the exact same thing and the reputable company suspected the capacitor and opened up the cover and confirmed it was a simple $117 part replacement. They also told me that your "guess" that it was the board was wrong. He stated that if it was the main board it would do absolutely nothing and that they can replace the board. You purposely mis-lead us to over charge us for things that were not neccassary. We should only be required to pay for what needed done- not what you wanted to trump up to cheat us.

To be clear: Technically, by having another company come out and perform services you have voided your warranty, however we are still willing to uphold your warranty.  We will not give you a refund. Often times repairing the opener can be as costly as replacing the opener, but with no guarantee of work. so replacement of opener was recommended by our garage door expert,. If our tech recommended a new opener, then that's what you needed.  There was no misrepresentations and we didn't sell you something you didn't need.  We have honored our end of the contract.
