Mike's Home Preservation Reviews (3)

[redacted] and his team came out a did a great job power washing my house. They were professional and affordable.","pos-1

Buyer beware. The owner [redacted] makes a lot of promises and says a lot of things he will do but doesn't do them.
He treated our home like an apartment and his crew slung paint with no regard for quality. They didn't cover anything so we have paint on fixtures, the fireplace mantle, and the thermostat. His crew left drip marks on every wall as well as roller marks where uneven pressure was applied.
Little pieces of the roller nap were in the paint on one wall. They painted over little pieces of carpet on the stairs instead of scrapping it off or just leaving it and advising us.
[redacted] did come back to repair some of the tape lines that his crew had not done correctly. Though his effort was better than the person he hired it still wasn't done correctly so they can still be seen.
He acted very unprofessionally and went into a tirade when we pointed out all of the areas after his crew had left and we had to call the police to get him to leave.
He also drank beer on the job in the house as witnessed by myself and one other.
We took a lot of photos of the painted fixtures and the way the walls, ceilings, and trim were left.","neg-1

He represented himself as a professional painter with many years experience. He did a poor job and threatened us with a lien on our house.Mikes Home Preservation was to paint our ceilings and walls. He was to skimcoat where needed, apply primer, sand, and then paint the whole house. He was to finish last Monday 10/XXXXX.The owner [redacted] made a lot of promises and said a lot of things he would do but didn't do them.He treated our home like an apartment and his crew slung paint with no regard for quality. He came back Sat. 10/10/2015. He started and then began to leave when we asked him why he had purchased additional paint without asking us and then saying we needed to pay him for it.Though his effort was better than the person he hired it still wasn't done correctly so they can still be seen.He acted very unprofessionally and went into a tirade when we pointed out all of the areas after his crew had left on 10/5/2015 and we had to call the police to get him to leave. He threatened us and then threatened to place a lien on the house if "he didn't get his money". [redacted] We paid 500 in cash and the rest was put on my Discover card.Desired SettlementIt was a half-[redacted] job and we will have to finish it ourselves or hire someone else. We have to take time to clean the paint off of our bath fixtures, thermostat, and mantle. We will have to fix the places he didn't fix in the walls and ceilings and then re-paint the house. We should paid back for this time in the amount of $1100.Business Response On behalf of Mike's Home Preservation we would like to apologize for any miscommunication and misunderstanding. Going forward we have made our contracts very discriptive to try to avoid feelings of frustration from our customers in the future. We would like to point out it is extremely hard to provide services to a property that has no lighting, and is unsafe due to a hole in the middle of the floor leading to the basement. We had to purchase plywood for the installers in order for our crew members to be able to complete our tasks. We offered the customer plenty of options on how the job could be completed. The popcorn ceiling texture was removed by a friend of the customer who wasn't a professional so the walls were damaged. We came back to the property at the customers request in order to address issues they had with the job. We came to and agreement with the customer after they took almost a week to pay us for the work we did to their home. We did the job at a great discount and according to documentation signed by the customer this job is resolved and complete.
