MIKE'S OFF ROAD ACCESSORIES Reviews (1)

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my dispute.
Please enter your reason(s) for rejecting the business response below. Thank you for the opportunity to respond to the
correspondence submitted by [redacted].
It is both discouraging and disappointing to see [redacted] fabricate
the truth to meet his own needs.
However, it reaffirms that in my opinion the person at the helm of this
business is of poor character and unethical. My response will include a reference
to each paragraph by number.First and foremost, we will gladly accept the offer of
$3270.83 found in paragraph four.  This
is the first time we have been made aware that [redacted] is offering us a
refund of $3270.83.  Had [redacted] made
this offer previously we would not have had to contact our credit card company
or the Revdex.com.This paragraph will respond to [redacted]’s correspondence
in paragraph one.  Our initial appointment
required a several week wait before we could bring the truck in for repairs.  We were never advised of any changes or delays
due to special order parts.  But as a
point of reference, the shop where the truck was repaired took less than three
weeks start to finish and involved several special order parts.  Any time a change was made we were
immediately advised by the other shop what was involved and any price
changes.  One of the most challenging
issues at [redacted]’s Off Road was we could never get a price, and we were not
notified in advance or asked for our approval of any price changes.  Our vehicle had been there close to a month
and we had to physically go into [redacted]’s to request the repair price.  At that time [redacted] sat with us and was
unable to give us a price.  He said he
understood our issue because he had requested the price prior and it could not
be provided to him.  He asked us to be
patient and work with him, which we did because we believed he genuinely wanted
to help us.   He was convincing and we
really wanted to trust him.  We were never offered the option
of picking up our truck and having the original parts put back on.  In fact we were always led to believe that it
was a work in progress.  There were also
several occasions they could not complete the work because different tools they
needed to complete the work were inoperable and waiting for service.  [redacted] would have you believe that the
work they did was somewhat subsidized.  One
of the reasons we did not return to [redacted] was his price was almost double
(with a partial credit for work done) for comparable work at other shops. Regarding paragraph two, our expectations never
changed.  This can also be confirmed with
the shop that actually repaired the truck.
We brought the truck in for issues with steering and handling,
specifically we said it drives like a tank.
We were shocked after being told the truck was ready and taking a test drive
there was absolutely no difference to the truck.  [redacted] confronted the service writer [redacted]
stating that the things he ordered would not repair the steering or rough
ride.  [redacted] then turned to the mechanic
Chris and said, “I only ordered what he told me too”.  It was uncomfortable to stand there and
listen to them argue amongst themselves about who was actually
responsible.  It was at that time that
[redacted] said he would make it right “to trust him” and get the truck
repaired.  He told us to take the truck
home so it would no sit there since they would have to order new parts.  He also advised he would give us a full
credit for work done.  To say that it was buyer’s remorse is laughable, as nothing
was repaired on the vehicle.  We received
the vehicle back $3,200.00 later in the exact same condition.Paragraph three, the new quote [redacted]’s Off Road offered us to
“repair “our truck was absurd and only included a partial credit.  That is when I broke down the quote and
started calling other shops.  It was
astounding the price difference.    We
had more extensive work completed on the truck than what [redacted]’s
recommended.  I am confident we are not
using any of the parts
installed by [redacted]’s Off Road.  When the
other shop was engaged they were asked to put all removed parts and set aside
for us. They were aware as to the reasons why we needed the parts back.   Some of the parts installed by [redacted]’s are
not recommended by the manufacturer for a truck lifted like ours.  Those parts have also been removed.    It is curios how [redacted] can confidently
state that our vehicle is fine with the parts installed by them.  [redacted] has had no access to our vehicle
from the time we left his shop.  Our
vehicle was not repaired locally and is located several hours from his
location. The credit [redacted] is referring to in paragraph four was
because we went from a more expensive part to a less expensive part.  However, the part itself is the one reference
above as being the wrong part.  Also,
what [redacted] listed on his invoice was not what was actually put on our
truck.  Again, since [redacted] has
stated he previously offered us the $3,270.83 we will gladly accept this.  I’m also notifying my credit card company of
his offer based on this response.Paragraph five, when is requesting a refund for services not
rendered considered difficult and demanding?
I think most people expect to get a value for money paid. We received no
value for work done.  Again, our vehicle
left in the exact same condition as when it arrived. [redacted] has shown himself to
be anything but ethical in his dealings regarding this matter.  I’m sure it is understandable that we are not
comfortable leaving parts in the care of an attorney he is paying for.  We have already been taken by this business once;
we are not going to provide an opportunity for it to happen again.  We will gladly do an exchange at the Revdex.com as
long as [redacted] has a cashier’s check for the refund. Paragraph six, not sure why [redacted] implies there would be a situation
at his store.  On the previously
mentioned visit we asked to speak to him privately.  We were then taken to a back room.  We have always conducted ourselves in a
dignified manner so this inference is a bit perplexing.Paragraph seven, I have requested that my credit card
company do an investigation and reverse the charges paid to [redacted]’s Off
Road.  I explained to them that we
received no value and have included the correspondence [redacted] reference’s in this
paragraph.  As of the time of this
writing I have not received confirmation of the reversal.  However, as mentioned above I will be sending
them [redacted]’s response to this complaint.
If [redacted] believes there are parts on the truck that he has installed
instead of making innuendo he should provide facts.  I would request that he specifically list
each part as it appears on the invoice.
I will then be happy to forward this information to the company that did
the repairs for validation.  Again, not
sure how he would have been able to determine this as the vehicle was not
repaired locally and is not located in this area.Paragraph eight, [redacted] is upset because he
has not treated us ethically and did not repair our vehicle.  He is disappointed that we are requesting
that he be accountable for his work.
Perhaps it is okay for some of his customers to chalk it up to a lesson
learned.  Not for us, we work hard for
our money and we believe a business should deliver value for money paid.   A competent business man would not
misconstrue this principle for hatred and defacement. Please see attached letter.
Regards,
[redacted]
