Initial Business Response /* (1000, 24, 2015/09/11) */

Subject: Complaint #XXXXXXXX
Dear [redacted] I apologize for all the confusion getting this complaint addressed. My name...

is [redacted] and I am [redacted]'s wife, the fault is mine as to the filing of a response. Now [redacted] contracted [redacted]'s Roofing LLC to repair a problem with a leak, we addressed the flashing issue a total of 2 times without success, the third time we came out [redacted] suggested that a call to the insurance company might be in order since we were unable to resolve the leak, and that he would credit a portion of the original charge towards a new roof system. The homeowner became irate and verbally abusive so [redacted] did leave the property. [redacted] was sure that fixing the flashing would solve the issue but unfortunately that was not the case. The homeowner kept attempting to reach us via the [redacted] system and we never got a message, it clearly states in our contract how to contact the company to report any issues with the work.
Again thank you for your time and patience.

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 27, 2015/09/17) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
First of all, to address Revdex.com, do deadlines mean nothing? I responded to all my deadlines. You sent out two letters to this business and they ignored them both. Only until you sent a letter I'm sure stating that it would be posted on their record did they decide to respond. You sent me a letter on X-XX-XX stating that you have made several attempts with no response so their lack of response would be reflected in their file. I think that should be the decision. Then they respond with an untruthful statement, which I will clarify. I had [redacted] come out on May 6, 2015 to try and fix the leak we were having. He was so confident that he knew what it was he had both my sons climb up on the ladder to show them where the problem was. He was so sure that this would fix that he put on my invoice that he would guaranty it for five years. I contacted him on May 8 and stated that our roof was leaking. He came out with his wife and tried to figure out where it was leaking. He came to the door and said that his wife was getting irritated because she didn't think they would be there that long so he was going to take her home and come back. He did come back and did something then wanted me to give him $40 to go buy some shingles. I didn't give him any more money but he did come back later and put some shingles up that he had found, different color but thought that would fix it. It did not and leaked again. He came out again and did something else and then he sprayed water from the hose on the roof but it started to leak again. That's when he suggested I make a claim with the insurance company. He left. Never once did I become irate and verbally abusive, which is a complete lie and attacks my character. His wife is responding to this complain and saying this and was never there. I contacted him again on June 6 that it was leaking again. The contact I made on May 8 and on June 6 and again on June 15 were all done through their [redacted] system and yes they did receive because they were responding to me. I tried to contact them by phone but they would not answer and he would not call me back after I left messages. After the June 6 contact they would no longer respond and all they wanted me to do was make a claim for a new roof. It is ironic that there is another complaint about his business with the same exact story. He comes out, does a minor fix and charges $3-400 and makes a guaranty that it is fixed. Then says he can't fix it and has the homeowner make a claim for a new roof. Sounds like a scam to me. I am attaching the invoice that I paid and where it shows the warranty for his work, which he will not stand behind and the correspondence from them through their [redacted] system because they would not answer my phone call. I still would like a refund for the money I paid him because I had to get my leak fixed so I had to find someone who had the ability to do that and had to pay more money. I think this complaint needs to remain on his file because obviously he continues to do this and to give them the ability to respond way past all deadlines is completely unfair, let alone responding with a complete lie against my character.
Final Business Response /* (4000, 39, 2015/11/09) */
I do understand your frustration and again I will state that coming to your property on 3 separate occasions and the material and labor involved does indeed cost. I am relieved that your situation was resolved.
Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 41, 2015/11/10) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I want them to stand behind their guaranty that is clearly stated on my paid invoice. He guaranteed he would fix the leak and GUARANTEED IT FOR FIVE YEARS. He is not standing behind his work and did not fix my problem so therefore want my money back. I also want this posted so that people are warned before going down this path of money lost and nothing fixed. I will not be satisfied until I receive a refund because he did not fix my issue which he guaranteed he would and never stood behind his five year warranty as stated.
