Review: I brought in a Mont Blanc wallet I wanted to be cleaned as there were dirt marks as well as some pen marks on it. I went to two previous dry cleaning shops and they said they couldn't do it. One of the shop recommended this place. The owner of the shop said for $5 he would be able to do it and told me to come back in 30-40 minutes to pick it up. I came back an hour later and all he did was paint over the old marks. I told him this was not what I wanted, and asked him to undo what he did. The next day I came to pick it up the wallet was in worse condition than I had first brought it in.The owner falsely advertised he could do a job he couldn't and ruined a $400 wallet in the process.Desired Settlement: If possible, either a replacement of the wallet of equal value or cash

I am writing this email in regards to the complaint was assigned ID [redacted]. I am the owner of small business Mike’s Shoe Repair.

Unfortunately, I can’t agree completely with the client complaint. I have said from the beginning how I can fix dirt marks and pen marks, and the client agreed to it. I said that I can clean the wallet a little bit, and then do the touch up with the painting that was matched accurately with the damage that was done on the inside of the wallet. While I repaired the wallet, the client didn’t seem satisfied and wanted to reverse the entire process so I did as I was asked to do. I charged only $5 for this job thinking that this should be a quick and easy repair and not having an idea that afterwards I will have to deal with this issue. It wasn’t my intention to ruin the wallet; I followed exactly the steps of the client after he agreed to my proposal how his wallet could be fixed in my shop. And my last concern is, why the client didn’t bring the wallet to the original store where he bought to have professionals that knows the product and are able to clean the way that he thought it was right in his opinion.
