I have been unable to resolve a billing dispute despite repeated calls to the billing department of Milan Medical Group. I believe I was double billed last year for two office visits totaling $159.75. The office staff have looked at the statements but referred me back to the billing company and said to contact them if things were not resolved. The problem is the billing company does not answer their phone,there is no other contact information for them and I have only received one call back from the messages I have left. The person who took my information (believe her name was ***) promised to call back with her results the next day but never did. The last statement I was sent said my account was going to collections if it was not resolved, so you can understand my concern for the charges to be resolved. I am enclosing copies of the statements where I believe I was billed twice. (the above is my letter sent to Milan Medical Group dated April 22, 2018). After hearing nothing back from Milan Medical Group or their billing department, I assumed they had reversed the charges as I received no more billing statements. Then on December 14, 2018 I receive a collections letter from L&M Accounts, Inc. demanding payment yet again except the amount was now $132.89.

Desired Outcome

Billing Adjustment There has been no effort by Milan Medical Group to resolve this dispute.I want these charges researched; if they are legitimate I will pay them. If they are indeed a double billing I want the charges reversed and the collections account to be closed. I want written verification of this from Milan Medical Group.

In response to Ms., we'd first like to apologize for the problems she had. We were using an outside billing group during the time she was not getting returned phone calls. We now handle billing in house due to such issues. We would like to discuss the situation on the phone if possible. We believe there may be some confusion over how to interpret the statement. There is a bold line which summarizes each date of service and then there is also an individual line for date of service, so it may appear that it was put in twice, however it was not. L&M Accounts is helping Milan Medical Group review and resolve many older balances in our system, but we can assure her that the information has not and will not be reported to a credit bureau. We are available by phone from 8-5 M-F at XXX-XXX-XXXX, ext 202. We look forward to resolving this complaint quickly.
