Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: Please find attached move out report and email exchange Milestone Apts failed to respond to [redacted] when she first expressed interest in moving out, Aug (a full month in advance of our walk-through date) Both myself and [redacted] called several times after this e-mail exchange but weren't able to reach anyone When we finally scheduled our walk-through with Disa, she assured us that we'd get a move-out checklist over e-mail, which we never received Disa arrived Sept with no paperwork, yet our move-out report lists several things wrong with the apartment that Disa never mentioned to either of us Furthermore, Milestone apartments failed to show us our move-out report at the time in question, as you can see from our lack of signature on the appointed line It also seems to be completed by Debra, who was supposed to be on medical leave (that's why Disa did the walk-through in the first place) The date reads Oct 5, a full days after our walk through Sept I received notification dated Oct that I would not be getting my deposit back, however, the postmark on the envelope was Oct If you examine the dates on our e-mail exchange, that postmark falls a week after Milestone claimed to have sent this notification For claiming to be such sticklers on dates, Milestone seems to have gotten theirs all mixed up On the grounds that they failed to provide adequate instruction, and openly fabricated a move-out report, I argue that our deposit should be returned to us Sincerely, [redacted] ***

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:
Please find attached move out report and email exchange.  Milestone Apts failed to respond to [redacted] when she first expressed interest in moving out, Aug 31 (a full month in advance of our walk-through date).  Both myself and [redacted] called several times after this e-mail exchange but weren't able to reach anyone.  When we finally scheduled our walk-through with Disa, she assured us that we'd get a move-out checklist over e-mail, which we never received.  Disa arrived Sept 30 with no paperwork, yet our move-out report lists several things wrong with the apartment that Disa never mentioned to either of us.
Furthermore, Milestone apartments failed to show us our move-out report at the time in question, as you can see from our lack of signature on the appointed line.  It also seems to be completed by Debra, who was supposed to be on medical leave (that's why Disa did the walk-through in the first place).  The date reads Oct 5, a full 5 days after our walk through Sept 30.
I received notification dated Oct 7 that I would not be getting my deposit back, however, the postmark on the envelope was Oct 14.  If you examine the dates on our e-mail exchange, that postmark falls a week after Milestone claimed to have sent this notification.
For claiming to be such sticklers on dates, Milestone seems to have gotten theirs all mixed up.  On the grounds that they failed to provide adequate instruction, and openly fabricated a move-out report, I argue that our deposit should be returned to us.
Sincerely,[redacted]

RE: [redacted], Complaint #[redacted]
Dear [redacted],
We dispute the above referenced complaint. The tenants failed to provide proper Notice to Vacate. We received their Notice to Vacate via email on 9/16/2015. we responded that per...

Washington statelaw, as stated in their signed lease, 20 day Notice to Vacate was required.
We also provided instructions for the move out process, and contact information for the propertymanager, whom they would need to call to schedule a final walk through.
The tenants delayed their walk-through and left garbage & personal items in the apartment.Milestone Properties' lease clearly state the rules regarding proper Notice to Vacate and what isrequired at the final walk-through. 20 Day Notice to Vacate is Washington State Law.
The tenants lease violations allow for the retention of Security Deposit or one month's rent as well asthe cost of cleaning & disposing of trash & items left behind.
Best Regards, .Karen U[redacted]Milestone Properties
