Did not verify my insurance prior to receiving services.I received services on [redacted] Acct. #XXXXX.My husband called their office and was told they take Delta Dental, what they forgot to mention was that he would be using out of network benefits. So he scheduled an appointment for me ( not knowing it was out of network). I go for my appointment, they did a full mouth X-ray, when I went to leave I ask the receptionist if I was all set and she said, we'll bill Delta Dental, that's when I ask her, are you in network, she goes oh no we only take the Premier plan. So I left and waited for my bill.I call the office and the office manager said it's your responsibility to make sure you know when you can get X-rays if you don't tell us we wouldn't know. I told her I never been to a dentist office that didn't verify that I'm entitle to a service. All she did was blaming me for their lack of service.I don't feel I should pay for a service that should have been verified. Please get back to me with any information. Thank you. Best regards, [redacted]Desired SettlementVoid charges that I was billed for, for the lack of service on their part. Business Response pt received service on[redacted] Saturday, we explained to pt that being able to verify history on a Saturday was not possible because Insurance companies are not open on weekends. Pt said that she frequently switches dentists so she can not keep track of were and what type of x-rays she has done and she does know that she can only have certain x-rays done every few years and that the last time was 2012 but we should have known that. Her husband had been to us many time prior had many services performed and paid all copays at time of service, husband was very aware that we are premier providers and not ppo for deltaConsumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)I don't accept her statement, as it is not a true statement. I did not tell her I switch dentist frequently I said I have been to other dentist in the past and I have never had this problem, where I received services I wasn't entitle to, I switched dentist because my old dentist is too far from home not because I wasn't satisfied with their services. I have the best credit score and a very good relationship with all my providers, As far as my husband, they never told my husband they only accepted premier plan, you can give my husband any bill and he will pay it, but the one thing he knows is that if he is told that they don't accept our plan then he can't see that provider. I was the one that realize there was something wrong. I was not told in my initial visit that they didn't accept the PPO until I asked which was after the fact. I even asked my husband and he said they never told him and that when he asked the person in the front desk she told him oh yes we take your plan. They even had the nerve to call this week to confirm appointments he had already cancelled with them.If I see a provider and they give me a bill I pay it, as long as I'm aware of the cost. I just went to my new dentist and they sat down with me and explained the services I'm getting and the cost and even told me no Rush, just call us when your ready. I just feel Milford Smiles don't have good business ethics. Final Business Response the pt was seen only once in this office SATURDAY 4/19/2014....She was never seen on 7/10/14 The problem is the bill that she does not want to pay. Every individual is responsible for their benefits, not the physician's office. When I go to a doctor's appointment I am always told to know MY BENEFITS. Not a problem I will write off the bill and de active this patient from my system Thank you

I had a route canal at Milford smiles last year ,the instrument broke off in my gumI have to go to an oral surgeon to have the gum cut to have the instrument taken out and I wanted to be reimbursed by Milfod smiles but they will not return my calls . I have asked several times to speak to Dr [redacted], the [redacted] of the company and as of this date have not heard back from himDesired SettlementI would like 800.00 dollars to pay my portion of the surgery that I have to pay out of my own pocket to fix Milford smiles mistake Business Response that is not true, pt knows that we were awaiting release from endodontist so that we could get information to what happened..root canal was NOT ever performed by Dr [redacted], it was performed by Dr [redacted]! Dr [redacted] out of good faith and owner of the practice did feel bad and reimburse patient for half of her out of pocket expense (i have copy of signed release form from [redacted]) and Dr [redacted] was to reimburse pt the other remaining portion to the patient directly
