In early winter of 2015, Mrs*** questioned about the caulk in the kitchen crackingI assured her that this sometimes can happen because of the lack of humidity in the airI asked for her to contact me in the late spring when they were no longer running their furnaceCracked caulking can only
be corrected when there is humidity in the air, or the problem can reoccurI received Mrs***’s email in mid-March about fixing the cracking in the caulkIt is now time to do quality caulking jobs, as their cabinet & top should be tight togetherIf caulked to soon the caulking would have pushed out when the weather changedI understand sometimes homeowners get a little anxious to get things done, and they don’t always remember the conversation; they just want quick resultsI could have caulked it in when I went to their house and saved myself a trip, but that was not the right time to fix it I returned her call two different times but did not leave a messageI also came to their home in April and left my card in the door, as no one was homeLB Construction Services prides ourselves on quality workWe know that good communication is a huge part of having satisfied homeownersWe plan to contact Mrs*** again to send someone over to resolve the issue as soon as possible

5/17/16Before the homeowner’s complaint was filed, LB Construction Services attempted to make contact to address the caulking issueWe went by their home and called but no one answered either the door or the phoneOur business card was left in the doorAfter the homeowner’s complaint was filed LB Construction Services texted to set up an appointment to address the issueThe homeowner responded by texting that 4:p.mon May 12th would be the best time for her for us to come outOn the 12th we sent one of our employees to fix the cracked caulkingWe texted the homeowner to let her know that he was in her drivewayShe informed us that she was not homeSince LB Construction Services already had their garage code from when we worked on their house before, we asked if we could just enter the home to complete the jobThe homeowner replied that Friday the 13th would work better for her for us to come back outWe then set up a time for the 13th at 9:a.mOur employee made another trip out to their home where he fixed the cracked caulkingThe homeowner’s husband said that the job looked great, and he was satisfied with the repair He then apologized about his wife’s behavior and told us that they were indeed very happy with the quality of LB Construction Services’s remodel of their kitchen.LB Construction Services has a 1-year warranty policy on our work It states that at the 11-month mark we will come out to complete final touch-ups on the project The homeowner in this case asked if we would address the cracked caulking issue in December 2015, well ahead of the 11-month markThe remodel of their kitchen was completed at the end of August As stated before, we advised the homeowner to fix the caulking issue in late spring when their furnace was no longer runningIf we would have tried to fix it in December like they requested, the caulking would have cracked again because of the lack of humidity in the air.LB Construction Services relies on referrals for our businessWe realize that while we cannot make everyone happy, we try our best to resolve any issuesWe apologize if the homeowner thinks there was a break-down in communicationBut we feel the homeowner understood in December 2015, that this issue could not be addressed and quality work could not be performed until late spring

On February 26, 2016, we provided a response to this exact complaint that was filed with the Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions. Both the customer and the WDFI were provided with River Valley Bank's response letter, all attachments listed in response, and the resolution
