Military Relocator, Inc Reviews (4)

Military Relocator is a very unprofessional and inconsiderate company. My wife and I rented a house under their company and found out first hand how bad a rental company can be. First things first, we had the AC unit go out on us three years in a row. It took them a week to have someone come out the first time. The other two times we waited nearly two weeks for someone to fix the problem in the middle of summer. Two winter in a row the heater went down. Same results! These are items that are in your contract that have to be maintained! My wife would have to contact them five to six times on other issues, before they would do anything about it. Now mind you, we paid our rent on time, every single time, and this is how we were treated. The icing on the cake was when the home owners decided to move back to the area and notified Military Relocator in Jan of this year about them coming back. They did this to make sure that my wife and I had plenty of notice of their return. Military Relocator did not say anything to us until June 5. Then asked us to be out by 1 July. The home owner called me because she was not happy that Military Relocator did not tell us prior to 5 June. The home owner worked with us and let us stay a few weeks longer, because we could not find a ready to move in house for my family of five, at the time. Military relocator did nothing to help us out!!!
All Military Relocator care about is taking your money. Nothing more and nothing less.
Just to let you know, I'm not a 19yr old PFC. I'm a 38yr old Gunnery Sergeant with a family of five that is good with money and takes good care of my family. If they will do this to me, what will they try to pull with that 19yr old PFC.
Please, do not use these people when looking to rent your house or find a place to rent!!!!
In closing, the staff at Military relocator was very rude to my wife, which is funny. Every time I walked in the door, they were super nice to me. Funny how that works. Now think of this, your deployed and something goes wrong with the house, and your wife has to handle it. Would you want her walking into a place that is willing to treat your wife that way? Not me!

On December 15th, 2013 my ceiling collapsed inside my home due to a water main breaking that was not installed properly. Such a pipe could have been discovered on a routine building inspection had there been one done prior to me moving in. The water damage consisted of my master bedroom (carpet, floorboards, and walls, the master bathroom (everything), the den (the ceiling, carpet, floorboards, and walls), the kitchen (the ceiling and walls), the laundry room (the ceiling and walls), and another bathroom downstairs (ceiling and walls). I haven't been able to live in this house since 15 Dec. On December 30, over 2 weeks after the incident someone finally arrived to perform construction. I am still not, and cannot move back in until they finish. I have been paying out of pocket for my family reside in another location. Military Relocator somehow still expects me to pay the full $925 even though I was promised by them and the homeowner to pay the pro-rated amount of $462.50. They now claim that it's the "law". Over the phone, I asked to be read this law or directed to where I can find it and their property manager hung up on me on 1 January. THIS IS ONE OF SEVERAL COMPLAINTS I HAVE REGARDING THIS BUSINESS.Desired SettlementTo pay the pro-rated amount that THE HOMEOWNER AGREED ON which is $462.50 for the month of December which is to payed in January. Business Response Dec 15th the said property did have a leak from the bathroom sink on the second floor. Due to the pipe over time deteriorating the pressure burst the pipe. The tenant had said in his complaint that the pipe might have been located if the property had a home inspection on it. While we do recommend periodically for the homeowner to do a routine building inspection from a licensed home inspector, it is not required. The homeowner is free to make that decision for his/her property. The office manager received the call the morning of the 15th and immediately called a general contractor and a licensed electrician to make sure the property was safe. Then made sure the tenants had a bathroom and were ok to stay. He said yes. The homeowners were called and they called the insurance company to come out asap. Tues, 12/17/2013 they had blowers out and repairs started. Tenant bounced the rent check for December. We called to collect. Tenant came in to pay on 12/23/2013. Tenant had been speaking with the homeowner directly after this and may or may not been told to pay a prorated amount. Without direction in writing from the homeowner we can not change the lease. He was told that he may be able to get some moneys back after we had in writing from homeowner. He still has not paid rent for January. As far as the phone conversation, our property manager was explaining by law we have to follow the contract. The tenant got irate and starting cussing at her and threatening to sue. As she started to say he would have to do what he thought was best, HE hung up on our property manager. This incident did not occur on the first of Jan. It was the 2nd of Jan. Our office was closed on the 1st. Our office spoke to the homeowner and he requested we send the tenant a 30 day notice to vacate. The tenant now wants to stay in the property till March 31st. As far as us ignoring his renewal that is not true. We mailed a renewal to him in Oct. and he never returned it. He chose to wait till after the first of the year. However the homeowner wishes to move back in to the property. As of right now the tenants lease has gone on a month to month basis. We are still trying to reach the homeowner to confirm the possibility of a prorated rent amount.Final Consumer Response After the incident on 15 December, there was NO WAY my family was going to be able to stay here. The damage was throughout 3/4 of my home. Not only that, they installed blowers in every single room and common areas through the home. They are loud, they blew dust constantly all over the place. That's not safe for 3 small children. Or for anyone. I had no carpet, no kitchen, no laundry room, and no master bedroom. The only rooms that were not effected were the living room and the kid's rooms. Impossible and unsafe living conditions. Also, the electrician and contractor that came out on 15 December told me and the homeowner that I should not stay here. The only work that was done on 17 December was cutting out all my carpet, parts of my ceiling, parts my walls and the installation of the blowers. "REPAIRS" were not even started until 30 December. FACT. The rent I paid on 1 Dec has NOTHING to do with this issue. There was an error with my pay and I did not receive allowance for housing. I wasn't notified until 20 December even though the check was processed on 2 December. Military Relocator waited almost 3 weeks to notify me. Pro-rated rent for 1 January is still an issue. The story has now officially changed 3 times. First it was how their computer system worked, then it was a state law, now it's in my lease...there is NOTHING in my lease that states in the case of pro-rated rent that I must pay in full first. I'll furnish my lease to Revdex.com upon request. Once again, the homeowner and property management had already agreed for me to pay $462.50 on 1 January. Now it needs to be "in writing" from the homeowner. Now that has changed. Either I get in writing I will be paid $462.50 immediately after I pay in full, or I will only pay $462.50... As far as my 30 day notice. Military Relocator said in their rebuttal their office was not open on 1 January. Yet the notice is dated 1 January. I did not receive this notice until 3 January. That's actually a 28 day notice. I need to be legally notified again in order for it to be a legit 30 day notice to be in compliance with NC state laws. I never received anything in the mail from Military Relocator in October regarding renewal. The only thing I got was a phone call shortly after the accident on 15 December asking of I had intent to stay. I told them yes. I was then told I would have to come in in order to do this. My lease expired 30 December. They were not open 31 December or 1 January. I tried to go both days. I had contractors at my house on the day of the 2nd, and was with them all day. On the 3rd I received the notice. They literally waited one day...they're going to kick myself and my 3 kids out of our home over 1 day. Immoral. I request another notice to make it legally correct. I request to stay here until 31 March. I request to either have it promised in writing to be repayed $462.50 immediately if I pay the full rent or I pay $462.50 for the rent that was owed 1 January. Once again I am still not living in the home due to the damage, and am paying out of pocket for my family to stay somewhere else. Business Response The Tenant and Management spoke regarding the complaint and his situation. The final agreement is that the tenant wants to remain in the home till March 2014 and all repairs have been completed from the leak. Homeowner tried to remove all carpet in the house. The tenant said it was an inconvience for him. So the homeowner agreed to finish the needed repairs and allow the tenant to stay in the home till March. Homeowner has done everything they could do to assist the tenant as well as our company. The Tenant could have moved out with the consent of the owners and instead decided to remain in the home.

Slow service and misrepresentation of owner, in addition to non-communication about lease agreements and condition of property. We contracted Military Re-locator to list our property for rental. We repeatedly had to contact them for even basic updates on the listing. Once the property was rented, they allowed the renter to continue to occupy the dwelling long after the lease was expired, and did not seek to renew the lease. we have repeatedly had to contact them multiple times to get any sort of information. On 4-25-2015 they refused to allow me to visit my own property , as I did not have an appointment. They have been repeatedly discoutrious and allof in dealing with my self and my wife.Desired Settlementno settlement requestedBusiness Response In response to Mr. [redacted] complaints:There has been no misrepresentation made. Our leases automatically renew on a month to month lease upon expiration. The tenants that were in this property would have stayed if the homeowner had not insisted to increase the monthly rent. As far as 4/25/2015 our property management was not open that day. Mr. [redacted] called and demanded from an agent that he have his keys. Our property management department is not open on the weekends and a sales agent would not have access to that department. On Monday Mr. [redacted] called very angrily saying he wished to cancel his contract. We immediately sent out a cancellation to him. Military Relocator strives to serve our clients to the best of our ability legally and ethically.
