To whom it may concern,The "secretary" never spoke to the husband about the vehicle. She was only there when the customer came to pick up vehicle and with attitude she said my husband said you could not diagnose the transmission problem We plug our diagnostic scanner in the
vehicle to verify there was no history or pending codesTheses sometimes do not trigger the light to come onWe always do this on every diagnostic even thought they informed us they disconnected the batteryWe have a highly sophisticated computer that allows up to monitor the Transmission control module while driving the vehicleThis allows up to see if each solenoid is getting the proper signal, It gives us transmission temp to see if an overheat condition is current, Lets up know if the *** is getting proper reading for reverseLets up know if lock up is coming on and offThis also allows up to do a key on engine run test which only applies to *** applications to see if the system has issues with any other systemsThis was doneSystems check all complete -ok We then check the fluids - ok The tech took the truck for a ride and shifted find during the initial testIn the parking lot we did experience a delay in reverse then it engaged, forward slight chatter " could be tires The vehicle has a intermittent reverse engagement when this happens there is a slight chatter going forwardUpon our complete diagnostic on there vehicle we found that this transmission has an internal transmissionThere are two possibilities Then end play in the back of the case could be off due to bad bearingthe rings on the back of the pump for the reverse drum. Both mean internal transmission problemThis was our diagnosticThis was explained to the husband and the customer separatelyWe charge a discounted diagnostic rate of plus tax for all our customers. After this was explain the customer stated she didn't have any money and was going to have her husband and son buy a transmission and put it inI wish good luck and a good dayI am not sure were this communication breakdown occurredWe preformed a complete diagnosticEven with out the code set in the system the transmission has an internal problemUpon this she did purchase a transmission to have installed upon our recommendation Thank you and have a blessed day.Thank you Stacey S***

To whom it may concerns, There are no refunds. I did not explain anything to your husband about the vehicle due to the fact I was on appointmentsI did not have any information regarding this vehicle because I was not hereAll conversations about our complete diagnostic which was done with the road test, were done my the technicianI am not even sure were all this anger is coming fromI talked to you about costBottom line the problem is inside the transmission and you need to either replaced it, fix it or trade in the truckThis is your decisionI am not trying to solicit any further business and wish you luck in your decisionHave a great day

I am rejecting this response because:Unfortunately this secretary is a blatant liar!! She had a conversation with my husband and then proceeded to put the tech on the phone when SHE could not answer his questions. She full right admitted it to me in person when I picked up the truck. As she also states their diagnostics consisted of a "road test". In fact as stated in the complaint the tech stated he "drove it back and forth in the parking lot"  and also noticed a "chatter" in the transmission when he went forward. If he took on a "road test" he would have noticed there was NO chatter in my transmission in drive!!!!I stand firm that they took advantage in the fact that when I dropped my truck off and told him there were no lights on in the dash, the tech should have honestly said we cant put the truck on the diagnostic machine because you disconnected the battery. For what its worth, and apparently not much to this company, I will NEVER give Smith Brothers Transmission a good recommendation. I will advise anyone and everyone not to go to them as they are complete liars.
Sincerely,

I am rejecting this response because:If the response is by the secretary that was behind the desk that I encountered when I walked in, yes she did speak with my husband and after "trying" to explain their so-called diagnosis of our transmission she then told my husband that she would put the mechanic on the phone. When I confronted her about what my husband was informed she said "let me get the mechanic". So apparently right off on two occasions she tried to "explain" something she knew nothing about. The technician and her both said the next step would be to "diagnose" (no guarantee) the problem by taking it apart for another $275.00, which we be deducted from the total cost if we chose to have them do the work. I stated that for the amount that were quoting me, I could get a remanufactured transmission for $1400. The "secretary" stated oh but by the time you purchase the fluid, the gaskets, etc ... She further stated that if I drove the truck and the "overdrive light" came on "bring it back in, we would be happy to put it on the computer to read the code, because we would like to what it reads". I was extremely upset, "overdrive light". I clearly told the tech the night before and when I picked the truck up, it was a "wrench light" , that went off and then the "transmission light" came on. I told the tech the night before that I had my husband disconnect the battery and add tranny fluid the day before bringing the truck to them. The tech NEVER said he drove the truck on the road. He stated he drove forward and backward in the parking lot. He claimed that my transmission had a "chatter" in the drive position. I said absolutely not, had he actually driven the truck on the road he would have know it was not the transmission "chattering" its my off-road tires (goes to show the knowledge of the tech) And wait a minute her last paragraph............ "Upon this she did purchase a transmission to have installed upon our recommendation"...... that is just not right!!!! She wanted to continue to soak us for our money by trying to convince me about the added extra costs to do the work our selves. AND to top it all off the tech wrote down the wrong information regarding the transmission tag!!!! Had we listen/went by what they wrote down we would be purchasing the WRONG transmission. I am respectfully requesting a full refund of my "diagnosis fee" that never happened. Regards,[redacted]
Sincerely,
[redacted]
