Hello,
The customer was given the clearing agent contact info on January 10, 2014.   It is the responsibility of the customer to contact the clearing agent directly to negotiate clearing rates.
Our clearing agent also contacted us once the vehicle arrived to advise...

that the customer did not pay what she stated.  By the time the balance was paid, demurrage had accrued and that is what the additional charge is.
In an effort to facilitate the transaction on both ends, Mill Wright LLC has communicated with both parties to help resolve the issue, however, the destination clearing charges transaction is between the customer and the clearing agent.
Please see emails attached.

Review: I contracted this company to ship a car to west Africa. After a lengthy process I was ensured that the company will send a driver to pick up the car from my residence what never happened. After days I finally hired another company to take the car to the port. I submitted the title in time I was told that I needed some signature on the back what I did. After numerous phone calls and emails they finally told me that everything was good to go. A week later, I was told that customs rejected the title because the dealership signature was missing on the back page. The company charged me 70 dollars to have the issue fix. (2 overnight shipments). After I made the remaining payment, I received a Bill of Landing with the car being shipped to the original destination (Benin) with a note that it was in transit to another country (Niger). I was told that it was OK that I can still use that bill of landing listing my vehicle being in transit to an unknown destination.

This is unacceptable I will never deal with this people again.

please stay away from them.

very bad customer service.Desired Settlement: They should refund the initial 70dollars because they verified the title and told me that everything was good on it. we email the title back and forth at least 4times but even after that I paid 70 dollars because someone failed to do their job and of course it is still happening.

Response:

Thank you for the letter alerting us of the problem you have been having with the shipping of your vehicle to Cotonou, Benin. I am sorry you have been subjected to such a frustrating series of events. We are in agreement that clearing the title with US Customs can be long and a complicated process and this was the stem of the problem. We do not control and US Customs or make the rules for clearing Titles. I will instruct accounting to give you $70.00 refund and $100.00 credit on your next shipment in effort to put this behind us and get another opportunity to prove our service. Please feel free to contact me in the future on my cell [redacted]

Review: On November 19, 2014. Mill wright, and [redacted], made an arrangement to ship a 2004 Toyota seinna to [redacted] And I was told to provide my consignee, which I provide [redacted]. I made payment of $1,795.20 to clear the Toyota Seinna, in a container. When the van, arrived in [redacted] around on the 13th of February 2014, I was told that the container will be cleared by one of there agent in [redacted] I was shocked. I called mill wright, talk to one lady [redacted], she apologized but to my surprise the cost gone up because I did not use my agent. I pay the difference of about $500.00 us dollar. That was back on around February 13th, and to my surprise their agent left for united state and the van could not claimed. When their agent came back the container went into delayed. When there agent able to claim the van, they told my agent to pay extra $550.00 for late clearing. I am furious, but to complain of the company misrepresentation. I just want them to tell there agent in [redacted], to let my van clear out and stop taking my money.Desired Settlement: I need my van cleared, then we will be able to do business the next time.

Regards,

Review: Early this year (Jan/Feb), I shipped boxes of household items and baby materials to my friend in [redacted], [redacted] through Mill Wright. I was told (emails on record) that they do deliver items to [redacted], [redacted].

After about 4- 5 months, a mysterious company in [redacted] ([redacted]) appeared in the loop, and contacted my friend (the consignee), that they were agents to Mill Wright. I immediately contacted Mill Wright to confirm this, and they said it was true. I authorized Mill Wight to request them to make delivery of the shipped items, but the agents refused asking the consignee to pay an exorbitant amount (equivalent to over 3 times the amount paid for the initial shipment from [redacted] to [redacted]).

I am directing this complaint against Mill Wright and not the agent-[redacted], as the agent company operates out of the US. Acting as agent to Mill Wright LLC, [redacted] charged us extreme unexpected fees which was not in the contract. The contract was between myself and Mill Wright LLC to ship the boxes to [redacted] and they decided to drop it off in [redacted], which was never our point of delivery.

With email archives and record, Mill Wright seem very nonchalant about this issue and does not care about this matter at all. Seriously the poorest service shipping company I have ever dealt with in my life.

Response:

Cargo was booked as door to port service, and once cargo was atdestination, customer asked about on-carriage to destination door. Destination agentreverted that they can not assist with door delivery. We have tried toaccommodate additional services, but per previous emails consolidator'sdestination agent could not arrange door delivery. At this time, cargo is atfinal destination [redacted] awaiting collection.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:

We were not aware that we had to deal with a third party on this consignment. Consignees address is in [redacted] (see Bill of Lading). Mill Wright did not inform us of any hidden fees nor that we were going to further transport the items from [redacted] to [redacted]. Mill Wright did not guide us truthfully on this. Mill Wright told us the items will be delivered to the consigness address. if Mill Wright had told us we were to pay a further $2000 from [redacted] to [redacted], we would never have been involved in this from the get-go.Please ask Mill Wright to return our shiopment back to [redacted] where it was picked.

Response:

We were not aware that we had to deal with a third party on this consignment. There are always local agents at destinations. This client has shipped with us before and is fully aware. Consignees address is in [redacted] (see Bill of Lading). The consignee address shows where the receiver is located, not the final destination. Final destination is [redacted]. He was quoted [redacted], and cargo was booked to [redacted]. (Email correspondence attached) Mill Wright did not inform us of any hidden fees nor that we were going to further transport the items from [redacted] to [redacted]. These are not hidden fees, they are destination charges which are always payable at destination. Cargo was booked to port of [redacted]. Mill Wright did not guide us truthfully on this. Mill Wright told us the items will be delivered to the consigness address. Final destination was always [redacted]. Cargo was booked door to port, not door to door. if Mill Wright had told us we were to pay a further $2000 from [redacted] to [redacted], we would never have been involved in this from the get-go. Client did not ask what destination charges would be. We never get involved with destination fees, but direct clients to contact destination agents directly to avoid any issues. Please ask Mill Wright to return our shiopment back to [redacted] where it was picked. In order for cargo to be returned to origin, all destination charges and freight costs to return cargo would need to be paid in full. Online Tracking Regards, Gregory W Mill Wright, LLC.
