The client received a letter with her withdrawal check stating that the withdrawal was fully taxable and if she had any questions and or concerns to contact [redacted] Life. She could have at that point returned the check with NO TAXABLE consequences.

Mr. Millard had a duty and a responsibility as a financial advisor to provide sound guidance on the annuities he sold.  I relied on his expertise before making any decisions.  The South Carolina Department of Insurance conducted an investigation into my complaint.  Mr. Millard signed a Consent Order with the SCDI acknowledging that he "mistakenly mislead" which caused a "taxable event".
