We did perform a home sleep test on this patient in April of this year and billed their primary insurance companyTheir insurance company has a negotiated discounted rate with us and the test fee was reduced to $300, however, according to the
information back from their primary insurance the $went to deductible and is patient responsibilityWe contacted the secondary insurance and were told the plan does NOT cover deductible on the primary insurance, it only covers the % that is patient responsibility AFTER the primary insurance deductible has been metBased on this explanation of the secondary plan, the $is not covered and therefore was not submitted
The patient was billed for the test at the end of JuneAfter sending multiple statements and not receiving payment, we did turn the account over to collections at the end of September (days)
If the patient believes that their primary insurance did not process the claim correctly, they should call us with details on their plan and deductible, and we can try to refileOtherwise, the patient is responsible for their deductibleIt is also our policy not to go over test results with the patients over the phoneTest results are sent back to the referring physician and it is their responsibility to review the results and therapy options with the patientWe will send the patient a copy of test results upon written request

I was contacted by the collections company the same day as the Revdex.com contacted me with the MSL replyI find it very odd and troubling that the two stories are so differentThe collections company said it was a mistake made by a billing company MSL was using at the time and my claim was to be DISMISSED, that it was Not my faultThe version from MSL is blaming me, that I just dont want to pay my billI have recorded the call from the collections company and can provide it, if requestedMSL said "they contacted" my secondary providerI'm sorry but they did not SUBMIT the claim and I am calling BS on their answerIt would be reviewed and refused if they had in fact actually done as they saidSounds like some discord is present at the MSL office
