Review: upon taking my [redacted] in for service,I requested to have an estimate prior to parts being ordered or service being done. This was on Monday, June 9. Thursday, June 12, I called to check status. I was told parts were ordered (I asked them to call prior to doing this) irritated, I asked for an estimate of what the total would be, parts and labor. I was told in the ball park of $100. I called again Tuesday, June 17 to check status. I was told the vacuum was finished and the total was $190 something... I was told to contact the man I originally dropped the vacuum off with and the man I spoke to on 6/12, whose name was [redacted]. He was not available, so I spoke with [redacted]. [redacted] explained to me that [redacted] was a new employee, and made a mistake. I told him I understand everyone makes mistakes but I was given an estimate of around $100 and the total was almost double that. I also told him that I had asked to be contacted prior to parts being ordered or work being done, and I was not. He was very rude and pretty much told me that he would take the parts off and return the vacuum to me. I was fine with this because I refused to pay twice what I was quoted but expressed to him my dissatisfaction. He didn't seem to care and gave me nothing but attitude. I told him that I was going to be reporting him to the Revdex.com. And he told me to "go ahead." Why should I have to pay for his employees mistake? Now I am over a week without a vacuum (I have three small children and two cats) and have to find somewhere else to take it to be serviced.Desired Settlement: I would like to pay what I was quoted, possibly 20%-30% more at most. I also just wanted to put it out there my dissatisfaction with this business, their lack of communication, and their customer service.

July 14, 2014Dear **. [redacted]:This matter was turned over to my partner and co-owner. He contacted the customer and gave her two options. To her credit, she chose the one that offered her the most value. She picked up and paid for the repair. The issue was resolved days before we heard from the Revdex.com.We used this situation as a learning tool for our new employee and a lesson to our seasoned employee as what happens when two "attitudes" collide.We regret any dissatisfaction to the customer caused by our employees. Had the customer asked to speak to one of the owners, the problem would have been resolved. Forty-three years in business has taught us to appreciate each and every customerSincerely
