Initial Business Response /* (1000, 7, 2015/10/09) */
Mr*** initially came in for a Missouri safety and emission inspectionHis vehicle failed the Missouri safety inspection for a windshield, excessive ball joint movement and a exhaust leak from the mufflerHis vehicle also failed the
Missouri emissions inspection for two codes in the computer code a evap leak and code a catalytic converter codeMr*** was given a estimate cost of the repairs for the safety and emission test and was informed that he may need a oxygen sensor if it was seized in the old catalytic converterMr.*** was given the vehicle back and told to drive it for a few days and bring it back in for a free re-inspection (the state requires the vehicles to be driven after emission repairs are preformed for the purpose of resetting the computer monitors)He was also informed if these re-inspections were not performed in the allotted time that the state of Missouri allows (days for safety and days for emissions)the state would void the current inspections and require new inspectionsMr*** did not bring the vehicle back in the allotted timeWhen he did return we had to do a new safety and a new emissions inspection as required by the stateThe vehicle passed the safety and failed the emissions for code a internal fault within the powertrain control module, code system lean and codes front oxygen sensorsWe gave the customer a estimate to resolve these issues and the work was approved by the customerWe gave the vehicle back to Mr*** to drive for a few days and bring back for his free re-inspection within the time allotted by the state of MissouriWe have not seen or heard from Mr*** since that dayThe customer has passed the allotted time for a free re-inspection by the state of Missouri however, if he would like to bring it back in we will cover the cost of the Missouri inspections

I am rejecting this response because: millers was told not to touch the gas tank due to high pricingA week prior to picking my car up when I made my first attempt to get my car back the tank was onI was told my tank was rusted before the tank was even removed which I thought was odd along with the previous $job I paid for did not get my car running like I was toldThe tank should've been on the car the following week during my second attempt to pick it upI didn't authorize anyone to remove the tank to have stolen from the shopNo one from millers told me they were removing the tank for free when I came to get it ( what shop does free labor)? If so that means half the labor was done and the outrageous price I decline on should've been cheaper and I would've let them do the work. When I call millers they said they were told to start the job to replace the tank, which I told not toWhen I spoke with miller corp they were told millers were removing the tank for freeTwo different stories
Sincerely,

The repair order written on 5/30/says 1) Install customers fuel pump and install for tank properly 2) Install fan shroudYou did ask us to install your fuel pump that requires the tank being dropped. We did not know that the tank and sending unit were unusable until they were removed. You left the vehicle on the lot from May until October as we were were waiting on you to bring the fuel tank/sending unit or bring us money to install our tank and sending unit with your fuel pump you brought us back in May

The customer called in for a quote on a head gasket and was given a price for a head gasket. Once he brought the vehicle in we checked it out to find out why the head gasket had blown. The vehicles water pump had went out and the vehicle was driven with the engine overheating causing his
head gasket to blow. The customer was called with a estimate on the head gasket and water pump, we also advised the customer when the vehicle was torn down we would send the head out to a machine shop to have it checked because the vehicle had been overheated. The results from the machine shop was that the engine became hot enough to warp the cylinder head which may have caused internal damage to the engine and the head would need to be replaced. The customer decided to order a remanufactured cylinder head that would take business days to come in. The head is due in today and the vehicle should be ready for pick up tomorrow or Monday

The Chevy Caprice was brought in 5/30/2017. 1)The repair order states install customers fuel pump/ install fuel tank properly 2)Install customers fan shroud. The fuel tank was removed to install customers fuel pump. When the tank removed we seen the fuel sending unit and
fuel tank were rusted so badly they could not be reused. We contacted the customer with pricing with a new tank and sending unit. The customer said that he would get back to us. The vehicle sat on the lot. When the customer showed up in October *** was on vacation and the employees did not release the car until they could confirm from *** there were no charges. When *** returned the vehicle was released. The following week *** went out on medical leave for at least six weeks. The fuel tank was stored out side since May because it can not be stored in the building. The tank is no longer out back. It must have been stolen (we have this problem with scrap metal being stolen in the area it has been an ongoing problem for years). The fuel tank was rusted through and no good. *** did not charge the customer anything for the labor to take out the gas tank. We also did not charge the $day storage fee for the months that the vehicle sat hereSince the customer had prior work done at our location

I am rejecting this response because: Prior to the week you decided to work on the car without money down as you stated you asked for nor without my permission I made an attempt to pick up my car from your building which is another strong indicator that your services weren't wantedHow is it I come to get my car on a Monday, get denied access to my car because your manager isn't there, but some how just days later when he come back from vacation forgot to mention to him that I came to the shop ( with a tow truck) to get my carInstead you all decide to start unauthorized work on my vehiclenot acceptable to meNot to mention the entire time this is taking place not once was I able to speak with *** not even when I called 11/&
Sincerely,
