As I stated in previous response to Miss Jackson's complaint when the vehicle was towed into our shop it had been flooded which miss [redacted] stated she herself had doneAfter we got vehicle running we scanned and the code Pofor the random cylinder misfire was one of the codes stored in there as well as a code for the oxygen sensorWe informed Miss [redacted] of the codes present and stated to her at the time that the code Pocould be many different issues as I stated before but as well as when the vehicle was flooded the plugs should be replaced it is common practice to replace plugs on a flooded vehicleSo then after the repairs were made to the vehicle for Miss [redacted] to drive it to get it ready for the NYSI; she returned after 3-days not quite sure on the length to have the NYSI completed so how did we just clear light to get through inspection. The light would have came right back on immediately if the problem had not been repairedMiss [redacted] states in her second response that she was told it could be several different issues. Also in her response to the time frame it to took which was a day and a half to try to diagnose was due to us checking other things that we could to try to eliminate them as a cause for the code PoWe checked for an intake leak as well as some of the wiring that we could do eliminate thatSo yes sometimes it does take more than an hour to check over a vehicleAnd if that's the case we could have charged her for the entire time we were diagnosing her vehicle like any other repair facility would but we don't operate like thatAnd once again how could I charge her the second time for a bad spark plug that we had just replacedParts can go bad at any given time even though they are "new "Miss [redacted] states she is having the exact same problem which in all reality it is a "problem" that could still be one of many different issues as stated during original repairOnce again I apologize that she is still having issues with her vehicle and that we were unable to successfully complete the one of many repairs it still could beBut as far as I am concerned the work we did was good enough for Miss [redacted] to be able to pick her vehicle up, drive for few days ,bring back for the NYSI to be completed and then drive for another couple weeks with no issuesTherefore the labor time and parts used are justified to me Thank You Teresa M*** Office Manager

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. Before my vehicle had been towed to M***'s, the misfire code had come up and my vehicle would not startI had flooded it trying to start itI had called the garage three times in a day and a half after it was towed to find out what was wrong with itTheresa did inform me at that time that the code could be coming up due to several different issues, and that they were working on itUltimately, I was told by Theresa that the code was caused by the spark plugs needing to be replacedIf this was not the case, then the garage cleared my engine computer of any codes just to complete the NYSI, and did not in fact repair itI was not charged for having my vehicle in there a second time because the parts were under warrantyThe business's response did not make sense to meBasically their stance is that I was told there could be several different causes, end of storyWhy then did it take a day and a half to go over the vehicle to find the cause? Why wasn't I told that they thought it may be the spark plugs but they weren't sure? It stands to reason that the issue was not fixed as I am having the exact same problem as what the vehicle was towed in there forI would not have accepted "it could be several different issues, but we can't find it" as a viable answer to why my vehicle wouldn't start and why the misfire code kept coming upI am sorry that Theresa had personal issues at the momentHowever, they were paid to repair my vehicle, told me it was repaired, and it isn't. Regards, *** ***

I spoke with *** and she stated the consumer has had the vehicle repaired and returned to his satisfaction for at least a month now

To whom it may concern: Ms *** had her vehicle towed into our facility for a no start issue. The vehicle had been sitting for quite some time. She stated she wanted vehicle checked over for NYSI once we were able to get the vehicle runningWe were able to get the vehicle running
without having to replace any partsThe vehicle had been flooded when it had been tried to be started repeatedlyWe then checked for the engine light being on and found the codes for random cylinder misfire as well as the code to replace an oxygen sensorMs *** was informed of these two codes as well as we checked over for safety part of the NYSI and found the tie rod end was bad as wellMs *** was informed at the time that the code for the random cylinder misfire could be several different issues but that the most common one would be the spark plugs needed replacing which they did anyways due tothe vehicle being flooded. The repairs were authorized and completed. Then Ms *** was informed the vehicle had to be driven to have the monitors reset for the NYSIShe returned week later and the NYSI was completed with no issuesIt was then May 5th the vehicle was brought back in with the engine light back onWe scanned and the same code for random Cylinder misfire was stored againOnce again was stated that there could be many issues but it did appear that one cylinder seemed to be misfiringWe did remove and install one new plug on cylinder of the vehicle and the skip seemed to go awayskip seemed to go awayMs *** was not charged anything for these repairsI was unaware that Ms.*** had returned to the garage or called due to an illness in the immediate family and then the passing of this family member otherwise I would have tried to help Ms *** out againListed below just so you are aware are the many possible causes for the code that showed up, Code PoRandom Cylinder Misfire. Faulty spark plug(s) Faulty Ignition coil(s) Clogged or faulty fuel injector(s) Intake air leakFuel injectors harness is open or shorted Fuel injectors circuit poor electrical connection Ignition coils harness open or shorted Ignition coils circuit poor electrical connection Insufficient Cylinders compression Incorrect fuel pressure So as you can see there are still many things that could be the issue not including anything that we had doneI hope that Ms*** is able to have this figured out and repairedThank you, Teresa M***
