In the matter of complaint [redacted] the vehicle was brought to us for and oil change service, bulb replacement, and a rattle noise. A complimentary multi point inspection was also performed. Our Express Lane personell follow a specific procedures when performing any work....
This includes double checking all fluid levels after replacement and using a torque wrench on all nut/bolts that are removed during service. Specifically lug nuts and oil pan bolts. This is done to ensure the nut/bolts are properly torqued.As our repair orders show the time and mileage difference between our servicing of the vehicle and its failure is 16 days and 1324.0 miles. We had asked the owner if he had seen any oil leaks prior to the failure and he replied that he had seen no oil leaks. The owner stated to us he heard a noise while driving. Then had to put oil in the vehicle but it came out to fast. Since we torque all drain bolts and the time and mileage between service and failure, along with the owners statement that he had not seen any oil leaks. We do not feel we are responsible for the failure. We have offered assistance in the repair as the owner is a regular customer.I have enclosed copies of the repair orders for your inspection. In the matter of complaint by [redacted]. As I explained in the letter to you dated 02/08/2016. [redacted] has experienced fuel problems with his vehicle. We have addressed each problem as it occurred in accordance with [redacted]-Chrysler-Automobiles procedures and warranty. Fuel related failures are not covered by FCA and this is stated in all literature and the owner's manual for the vehicle. As Miller's Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep-[redacted] did not supply the fuel put into the vehicle we can not take responsibility for a fuel related failure. Perhaps this should be taken up with the fuel station where it is was purchased. We have also been informed by [redacted] he has traded this vehicle in on another.
