Miller's Towing & Auto Repair Reviews (3)

As I stated in previous response to Miss Jackson's complaint when the vehicle was towed into our shop it had been flooded which miss [redacted] stated she herself had done. After we got vehicle running we scanned and the code Po300 for the random cylinder misfire was one of the codes stored in there as well as a code for the oxygen sensor. We informed Miss [redacted] of the codes present and stated to her at the time that the code Po300 could be many different issues as I stated before but as well as when the vehicle was flooded the plugs should be replaced it is common practice to replace plugs on a flooded vehicle. So then after the repairs were made to the vehicle for Miss [redacted] to drive it to get it ready for the NYSI; she returned after 3-5 days not quite sure on the length to have the NYSI completed so how did we just clear light to get through inspection. The light would have came right back on immediately if the problem had not been repaired. Miss [redacted] states in her second response that she was told it could be several different issues. Also in her response to the time frame it to took which was a day and a half to try to diagnose was due to us checking other things that we could to try to eliminate them as a cause for the code Po300. We checked for an intake leak as well as some of the wiring that we could do eliminate that. So yes sometimes it does take more than an hour to check over a vehicle. And if that's the case we could have charged her for the entire time we were diagnosing her vehicle like any other repair facility would but we don't operate like that. And once again how could I charge her the second time for a bad spark plug that we had just replaced. Parts can go bad at any given time even though they are "new ". Miss [redacted] states she is having the exact same problem which in all reality it is a "problem" that could still be one of many different issues as stated during original repair. Once again I apologize that she is still having issues with her vehicle and that we were  unable to successfully complete the one of many repairs it still could be. But as far as I am concerned the work we did was good enough for Miss [redacted] to be able to pick her vehicle up, drive for few days ,bring back for the NYSI to be completed and then drive for another couple weeks with no issues. Therefore the labor time and parts used are justified to me.  Thank You   Teresa M[redacted]    Office Manager

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.  Before my vehicle had been towed to M[redacted]'s, the misfire code had come up and my vehicle would not start. I had flooded it trying to start it. I had called the garage three times in a day and a half after it was towed to find out what was wrong with it. Theresa did inform me at that time that the code could be coming up due to several different issues, and that they were working on it. Ultimately, I was told by Theresa that the code was caused by the spark plugs needing to be replaced. If this was not the case, then the garage cleared my engine computer of any codes just to complete the NYSI, and did not in fact repair it. I was not charged for having my vehicle in there a second time because the parts were under warranty. The business's response did not make sense to me. Basically their stance is that I was told there could be several different causes, end of story. Why then did it take a day and a half to go over the vehicle to find the cause? Why wasn't I told that they thought it may be the spark plugs but they weren't sure? It stands to reason that the issue was not fixed as I am having the exact same problem as what the vehicle was towed in there for. I would not have accepted "it could be several different issues, but we can't find it" as a viable answer to why my vehicle wouldn't start and why the misfire code kept coming up. I am sorry that Theresa had personal issues at the moment. However, they were paid to repair my vehicle, told me it was repaired, and it isn't.   Regards,   [redacted]

I spoke with [redacted] and she stated the consumer has had the vehicle repaired and returned to his satisfaction for at least a month now.
