To Revdex.comRespond to customer complaintID [redacted] ***I installed a rebuilt a engine in [redacted] Ford -back in May In February the customer had the truck towed inAt this time I was shorted handed due to an employee not working for personal injuryI explained this to [redacted] that I was unstaffed and this would take some timeAnd he was okay with that.When I checked out the truck, I noticed that the plugs where meltedI called [redacted] " How HOT did you drive it", He replied that the tempature gauge was up 3/of the wayAnd that he pulled over to the next exit(Not his wife driving)So at this point I belived the customer that the truck was not run hot.I called the warranty company in reference to his warrantyThey asked if the plugs where melted,to seee how hot the engine got, (Plugs melt when tempature reaches over degrees )My responce was " I was unsure at this time", I was trying to keep his warranty active.When talking to the warranty company a second time, they needed me to pull the spark plugs and see if they are wetAnd #and # cyclinders where full of anti-freezeAt this point the company wanted me to remove the heads and see if was just the gasketsGaskets where goodSo next I had the heads checked out by- [redacted] ***The heads where warped one at 20,and one at 10,At this point the warranty was voided, due to the fact the plugs where melted and now the heads are warped, because engine was ran hot for an unknown amount of time!! I went ahead and had the heads repaired( Due to the fact the plugs where melted and now the heads are warped.) I was going to finish the truck at my own expenseI put the heads back on not knowing that there was further damage to the engine(Truck would not run when first towed in, so I had to believe what the customer told me what happened ).When I started the-engine there was a noise in the lower end of the motorAt this point the engine was not good.I notified [redacted] about his engine making the noise in the lower end of the motorAnd that the motor is now no goodHe stated to me " I paid 3,dollars for this engine"I tried to explain that is does not matter how much it costedThat he ran the engine to HOT and the the warranty was voidedHe continued to scream at me so I hung upThis was the last time we spoke.My Cost out of pocket: 1,268.49, repaired heads, head gasket set, head bolts, anti-freeze and oil change plus laborIn response to customer statement in your letterHis wife was driving the truckWhich I was told he was driving when the truck began to sputter [redacted] also claimed he had to problems with the truck before this But I am enclosing pictures of found empty anti- freeze bottles found in his truckAlso in your letter was stated that no copy of warranty was givenThe warranty is under Milligans Auto, and the book we handed to her is IN FACT the same company of the warrantyAlso enclosed is a receipt from [redacted] [redacted] (owner)
