A copy of eyeglass prescription is always released without hesitation and checked for accuracy at no charge if filled elsewhere. A contact lens prescription is released when it is determined the lens fits well and is healthy on the eye, usually after 1 follow up appointment. Our prices are...
comparable to other offices and stores including online services. If someone does not want to follow through with a contact lens fit, as was in this case, the records are released with all the information regarding the lens that was used diagnostically. The fit was not finalized which was explained to her and a follow-up after wearing the lenses was offered, but refused. It was her contention that we should order custom made Rigid Gas Permeable bifocal lenses, let her wear them, then she will return them when the fit is final and find them for less elsewhere. It is our goal to provide our patients with the best care possible. I am confident that we have, and always will, provide that to our patients. The $85.00 is for time the doctor spent and will not be refunded as she has the notes and records of this visit as she requested.
Review: Dr. Kelleman, a optometrist in Milltown, NJ is a shame. Dr. Kelleman is a nice enough guy, but his office will not release the Rx so you can purchase your lens or glasses elsewhere so you are stuck with his outrageously high prices once he draws you into his confidence. Stay clear of his office unless you want to pa really high prices after he sweet talks you with his bedside manner.Desired Settlement: Provide the Rx as law requires instead of hiding behind a loophole.
