Milton Propane, Incorporated Reviews (3)

I would like to know how they can try to charge a person 125 dollars more to deliver propane sooner then the scheduled date, when I am out of propane now.

Review: Was told the price of 100 gallons of LP was $477.79 and then they delivered it and left me a bill of $589.90 for the same 100 gallons. What they told me was the price and what they charged me was two different things. It was $112.11 more then what we agreed on the phone. Two days after I talked to them on the phone they sent out a letter that I didn't receive until the day they brought the LP that said they weren't honoring any pricing due to the cost and shortage. That was after the agreement on the phone. I've tried contacting them twice and left messages and they have their phones on answering machines and still have not contacted me and that's been four days now. I can't remember the ladies name but she told me that she would take care of me and have the LP delivered before the three days.Desired Settlement: Give me my LP for the amount that they said on the phone and that I don't owe them the amount that they want to charge.

I write in responce to the complant made by [redacted]; ID #[redacted]. The difrance in price of $112.11 will be credited to your account today and I apolagize for the inconvience. The prices have been changing so fast and drastically as the letter you speak of that I wrote indicated that I am sure we missed pricing yours corectly. A top copy of this transaction will be sent as proof of this corection and resolve.

Review: Milton Propane stopped out to fill my tank I know I had 38 percent to start with after the driver finished and left the paperwork in my door he indicated that I had only 27 percent in my tank. After calling the office and talking to the woman who answered the phone she informed me that they do not use the gauge on the tank instead they use the gauge on the truck. So I asked her how can this be, She informed me that my gauge must be sticking. Since im not using propane to heat my house any more only my water heater is taking propane how can this be. Well I was informed by this women that I must be using it and that maybe I'm not sure as to how much im using. Well lets see im heating my house with wood and their is only 2 in the house and I know were not using a lot of water for showers so unless the tank is leaking fuel or somebody misread the gauge again( yes again) something is wrong. Bottom line I had 38 percent in my tank not 27 percent.Desired Settlement: Stop the over charging for something the customers did not receive

Response:

Dear Ms. [redacted],

I write reguarding a Mr. [redacted] with an assigned ID of [redacted]. I have many tanks at this adress and assuming it is one of four bulk tanks I would be glad to credit the 11% differance. The gauge is to be used as a rouph measurment of said contence which operates on a cork-bobber apperatis inside said tank. The tempature of propane is 44 degree below farenheight and though the tempature compensated meter allows for weather the tank is filled and it turns the liquid into a vapor increasing the contense of the tank and thus measuring what is a liquid only. This refrance is good enough for what we do on our end to fill and it is OK once the gas settles and the presure has droped thus becomming a liquid again but in between it will never read proper. The truest way would be to weigh the contence but meters are used in modern-day approch and inspected twice a year by state law and by our company standards. The spitter which releases a small vapor till filled to proper 85% when liquide appears can be most acurate as well and yet most do not use this meathod as the gross measurement is usually fine. For entering a before delivery and ending the "%" works fine on our end as well to tell the computer basically where it is. To reiterate though this measurement is not intended to be exact just a gross measurement and this explanation is what I have learned both as a 30-year vetern of delivry and knowledge I have obtained from schooling.

Sincerely,

Consumer
