Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved

At this time, I have been contacted directly by SLR Industries, Inc. regarding complaint ID ***, however my complaint has NOT been resolved because:
SLR says that they are not responsible for the way that the asphalt is laid down they said that it's written into the contract like
thatThey refuse to do anything
They didn't pitch the drive way the way I asked and now I can't put in the drywell to solve the drainage issue
Labor on site thought there was no drywell because they were not installing so he tried to pitch it all to the streetHe was not aware I was going to put in drywall myself which was only discussed verbally with the sales man and not written into the contract

During the initial estimate with [redacted] we spoke with him as well as his wife to discuss what they wanted done.  The work included an asphalt driveway with brick paver borders, walkways and a porch area with steps.  Upon my first survey of the driveway the subject of how we would be pitch it to allow water off the driveway came about.  The existing driveway was pitched to the right towards an old drainage system along the right side.  The driveway also had negative pitch to the street and the natural flow would be towards the garage which was at a lower level than the street.  In our initial field discussion it was made clear that water could not be pitched to street and instead we recommended installing a new drain.  The customer agreed that water could not possibly flow to the street however he also declined our recommendation for a drain.  Our recommendation for a drain was made multiple times.  Instead his request was that we pitch the driveway towards the left, the opposite of its original pitch, so that he could install a pop up drain himself on the left side on the lawn.  We recommended against this because his house was located on a main road and the flow of the street went to the right, fighting against a pitch to the left which would cause water to pool.  [redacted] did not listen to that recommendation.  With the situation we had to work with we pitched the driveway to the left the best we could based on the elevation of the garage slab.  He was not satisfied with the result.  We returned and readjusted the brick paver borders and the pitch according to his liking free of charge.  After this point he was satisfied and gave an okay to pave with asphalt.  He called us within the next week after completion of the project to tell us that he has puddling on the driveway.  SLR President Louis Labriola and I went that same day to have a look.  We flooded the driveway with the hose and let the water sit for an hour.  When we came back 90% of the water was off the driveway in just one hour.  In our contract it states to allow 24 hours for water to make its way off the driveway which is standard.  It also states in our contract the ponding on the driveway is out of our control if there is less than ¼ inch per foot of pitch which the customers driveway did not have.  This is why our recommendation of a drain was so important.  We did our absolute best to satisfy [redacted].Thank You.Mark D[redacted]Vice PresidentSLR Industries Inc.###-###-####

After a field meeting at the job site SLR Industries Inc. and our Customer, [redacted] agreed to Seal Coat the driveway in the spring of 2016 at no charge and reset any settled bricks. Both parties are happy with this agreement. Thank you, Louis L[redacted]

As we detailed in our initial response we advised [redacted] multiple times to not only have us install a drain but also that the way he wanted to have the driveway pitched would not work.  After we did come back and readjust the pitch free of charge [redacted] did give the go ahead to pave.  We were very clear that we would advise a drain.  To the best of our ability we tried to complete the job according to what [redacted] wanted.  Like previously stated it is in our contract that the customer is to allow 24 hours to let water disperse from the driveway.  Water will flow off a driveway at different rates based off how limited pitch the driveway has which in the case of the customers property it is very little.  This is why our recommendation of a drain was so vitally important.  We always do the absolute best of our ability to advise our customers based on our professional opinion and work diligently with the customer to achieve a completed project that they wanted. Thank you. SLR Industries Inc.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

The driveway pitches to the right opposite from what we discussed and with no warning that the will be pitching the driveway to the right. There is so much water now that does not leave the driveway that it freezes and has become a safety issue. None of the direction given was was applied without asking to correct to the original request. The pavers at the garage slab were installed incorrectly and were fixed by SLR but only after showing the water would have ran into the garage with their initial setup. I asked numerous times for SLR to recheck the grade of the driveway and make sure it was going to be as requested which did not get relayed to labor onsite.
