If they fail to reimburse me, I intend to file additional complaints with the Attorney Generals of New York and Massachusetts and file a lawsuit if needed to recover further damages! On the install page, there is a link for "More info" on the VideoDownloadConverter (see attachment). If you click on that link, there is only info on how to presumably uninstall the VideoDownloadConverter. How is that clear, concise and comprehensive disclosure? I would not trust your uninstall procedure to completely remove every trace of your malicious software! Nor would I trust your support service! There is no "info" on the facts that Video Download Converter Toolbar is a browser hijacker, which is promoted via other free downloads, and once installed it will add the VideoDownloadConverter Toolbar, change your browser homepage to [redacted], and set your default search engine to [redacted]. The Video Download Converter search will display advertisements and sponsored links in your search results, and may collect search terms from your search queries. The Video Download Converter Toolbar infection is used to boost advertising revenue, as in the use of blackhat SEO, to inflate a site’s page ranking in search results. The Video Download Converter Toolbar it’s technically not a virus, but it does exhibit plenty of malicious traits, such as rootkit capabilities to hook deep into the operating system, browser hijacking, and in general just interfering with the user experience. One of the services provided by this company is an Internet portal which among its features allows for a personalized TV listing grid of ones favorite channels. I have reported a problem with the start time for shows being an hour off several times and have never received an acknowledgement that the problem would be addressed and as of this writing has never been fixed.

I entered a website called [redacted] and my computer was hijacked. I traced the website back to mindspark Interactive network. I want this company's websites to be investigated right now. I have read other complaints about malware on their websites.

In the middle of the article there was a deceptive sponsored link, which I thought would show me a video of how to repair a cuckoo clock. I clicked on the link, which brought me to this page: [redacted]

I clicked on the button to install the free video converter from Mindspark Interactive Network, Inc.. After installing the video converter, I realized that it had installed malware onto my computer! I could tell this because it hijacked my browser by changing my home or start page and installing some irrelevant toolbar!! None of this was disclosed to me before I clicked on the install button! This is very deceptive!!! With the help of my son, who is more technically savvy then me, we were able to remove the malware that Mindspark Interactive Network, Inc. installed onto my computer without my consent! However, to do this he had to spend the better part of a day to research and find a way to uninstall the malware. Mindspark Interactive Network, Inc. does not provide a uninstall program for this malware! I had to purchase two malware removal tools, Malwarebytes and Hitman Pro to clean my computer of the infection! This cost me $50.00! And that does not include the cost of my son's time he took off from his work! I could not use the free versions of the anti-malware programs because I had recently used the trial versions of them and the trial period had expired.Desired Settlement: I want Mindspark Interactive Network, Inc. to reimburse me $50.00 for the cost of the malware removal software that I had to purchase to remove their malware from my computer.
