Dear Ms [redacted] I am responding to the complaint sent to you by Mrs [redacted] ***Mrs [redacted] was unable to reach us to obtain dental records for her childrenMy dental office was closed on January 29, This was because I sustained a broken neck in a fall at homeSince January I have had two major surgeriesIt has been very difficult to address all of the issues remainingI am no longer able to practice pediatric dentistry as I did in the pastI have worked through the State and individually to try to bring another pediatric dentist into IndianaRegrettably, at present, there is no interestI have offered to train and supervise general dentists with experience to take over my officesThe insurance companies have made this impossibleI am working with a large pediatric dental group from eastern Pennsylvania to move into western Pennsylvania and to take over the practiceHowever, this will not happen in the near future.Regarding patient records, our main office number, ###-###-#### was to be maintained by [redacted] Dental in Greensburg, PAThis office took over all of our Greensburg charts and the responsibility for this phone numberI assume that most of our patients had this number, I have now learned that that number is no longer in serviceMy second office number, ###-###-#### and my home number ###-###-#### are in service but apparently are no longer available through the internetMy home number is available in the white pages but the white pages are no longer distributed except upon requestI can be contacted readily through the Pennsylvania Dental Association (PDA)I would assume a dentist accepting Ms***’ children for care would contact us through the PDAObviously this did not happen.I have called Mrs [redacted] and left a message for her to return my callI have given her both my home phone number and cell phone numberWhen she returns my call, I will apologize to her because she was not able to contact meI will forward copies of appropriate records to her at no chargewill also try to get my office phone number(###-###-####) on the internetThank you for bringing this to my attentionHopefully, I will be able to work something out to bring appropriate pediatric dental care back to Indiana CountyRespectfully,Christopher [redacted] L***, DMD
