If you want quality, look for another builderMy home was pretty, and I said I would recommend builderAfter living in the home almost two years, I would never recommend KB HomesFirst year they fixed problems, but I persisted through their lies and insultsFor example, saying the irrigation meter was backordered, and it had been installed four years before constructionOverhead double garage door falling down because not installed properly and bolts pulled out of ceilingWrong kitchen sink, shower door, defective bathroom window, to mention a few thingsThe shut-off valve for water coming into the house is outside, two feet down, and I cannot reach itI was told to call a plumberI'm sure you can do better with far less stress and even a thank-you

BUYER BEWARE
Pure fraud and deceptive practicesMy new home was built so poorly, had to move outBuilding department was given gifts, whistleblowers paid offConstruction - no hurricane straps, other major supports missing or not installed, toxic mold, wrong seer and ton on the a/c, so I am under tonMajor subfloor issues, so bad someone's foot went through it, years and they are still trying to get away with not doing proper repairsIs this how you want to spend your life?
Customer support, they stand able, willing to resolve the problem is the lie you will hear over and over again and the answer they dish out to companies like the Revdex.com
They are being investigated by the Attorney General in FLI have pulled up so many complaints from the Attorney Generals across the country Unless you want to risk fighting them on repairs till your warranty runs out, stay away from themThis is your biggest investment, so many people have walked away from their faulty dream homes
They have been fined by the FTC, yet continue to use their tactics to scam consumersGoogle KB Home complaints or reviews, you will see page after page of issues

We had signed a building contract to build in the neighborhood Trailside in Thornton, CO, and were approved for a loan for way more than we can afford in REAL LIFEThis was the reason they didn't give us our money back - their lender "approved" usJust because a person's credit is exceptional, doesn't mean they should be approved for too much houseIncluding myselfOnce we ran numbers again and realized it was a huge financial mistake to build a new home for our family, we canceled our building agreementEven though all that had been done on our behalf by KB was procure a building permit from the city of Thornton, we were not given any of our earnest money backNothing else that required our earnest money has been doneNo ground had not even been broken yet! Now that we are on to search for a different home, it is VERY FRUSTRATING to not get any of our earnest money returned to usOur realtor told us that if this case went to small claims court we'd get all our money back

DO NOT buy a KB homeOur home is full of defects which KB refused to fix so we joined a group lawsuit as did a huge percentage of owners of these poorly built homesNot sure about other states, but in "consumer friendly" California, the law is completely on the side of the builder to the point it is corruptFirst, KB was allowed to drag out the mediation processWe purchased our home years ago and have had water coming up through the slab from the beginningWe went to mediation along with other owners and apparently KB is able to ignore anything the mediator says too, even though he is recommending recovery for usThis after two crews of inspectors tore up our home to document the situationMoreover, only the original owner is eligible to receive anything under mediationWe are original owners but over the course of years, several original owners sold their homes and KB knows thisThen there is the delightful portion of the law that says an owner is only able to address actual damage to the homeSo if you have a leaky roof, you can consider damage to drywall but not ask for funds to repair the roof itselfKBs plan is to delay everything with their team of lawyers and not pay a dime to fix the homes they built with cheap workers and cheap materialsOnce they have your money, their attitude changes and they do not recognize their year warranty or even the recommendations of a court appointed mediatorIn the end, it will be up to each individual homeowner to take them to court which is like David going up against GoliathShame on KB

KB built our HOA home app and we bought it almost years agoSince we have owned it I have had one minor repair done to the roof and another roof problem that would have ended in a truss replacement if not caught just a few weeks ago not to mention inexcusable others to be mentionedBoth roof problems due to shabby, uncaring constructionThe truss issue was due to bad roof construction around the pvc vent tube going thru the roofSubstantial mold was found under the roof deck in the attic where one can push the boarding up it is so soft! Since it was caught in time just that portion of the roof will have to be replaced and not the truss thank god!
Another inexcusable are curving walls that we must live withI didn't notice it until we started putting furniture next to certain walls and one for example has at least a half inch curve to it and its only 6' long!
Lastly even tho there are others, is the lack of support for ac/heat ducting in the atticA primary ducting coming out of the burner/ac box broke feeding multiple other ducts on the top half because it has no support from a strap or underneath
In general the KB that built this house should be avoided for doing business with at all costsOther minor problems we must live with since they can be lived with like the curving wallsBE AWARE OF KB HOME BUILDERS!

My husband and I started this process of building a house in August. Throughout the whole process we received updates at least weekly if not multiple times throughout the week. We estimated to close in late November early December but due to weather, city approvals and different obstacles that were out of the control of KB our house was just recently finished. After drywall was completed they provided us with a tentative closing date in which we closed 1 say earlier than that date. With the horror stories I have heard from many people about the troubles and stress of buying a home I found myself looking for things to stress about and worry about. KB Home and their affiliates for the mortgage and title were all amazing. We always got all the information needed and questions answered in a timely manner. With how easy they made the whole process is the main reason why I found things to worry about since I had it in my mind that it was going to be a crazy and stressful process. Going through KB was the best decision we could make for our family and we do not regret the decision in any way.

If you want quality, look for another builder. My home was pretty, and I said I would recommend builder. After living in the home almost two years, I would never recommend KB Homes. First year they fixed problems, but I persisted through their lies and insults. For example, saying the irrigation meter was backordered, and it had been installed four years before construction. Overhead double garage door falling down because not installed properly and bolts pulled out of ceiling. Wrong kitchen sink, shower door, defective bathroom window, to mention a few things. The shut-off valve for water coming into the house is outside, two feet down, and I cannot reach it. I was told to call a plumber. I'm sure you can do better with far less stress and even a thank-you.

Be aware of the delays that KB homes is having for the new shadow grove community. We signed a agreement with KB in September and picked everything out at the studio in Oct construction started in January and its June now. The house should have been done this month then it was pushed back from June to July and now we're looking at August. They don't care one bit and we have failed numerous inspections. They built our stair case incorrectly and they were notified two months ago still no change. They located the ac vent in the wrong area still needs to be moved and numerous other items. It's a horrible experience we were so excited and now it's to the point we don't even care to look at the progress. Don't use KB
