positive experience. The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) protects this student's privacy and does not allow us to respond more specifically in this forum. MAC Administrators make student concerns a priority and are empowered by the Board of Trustees to assist students based on individual needs. On a rare occasion an instructor will have a valid reason for not meeting a traditional class in person. When this occurred in the accounting class in question, the Instructor posted materials (study guides and answers) in the student information system and communicated with students to assess their needs. Many students in this course continued on to the next accounting course with the same instructor in a subsequent semester.
Faculty members have varying teaching styles, just as students have varying learning styles. Mineral Area College posts faculty evaluations publicly and encourages students to seek the guidance of their advisors, student services staff, career services staff and faculty members to proactively plan their education. Mineral Area College values students and faculty and considers how life circumstances affect education, especially when those circumstances are outside anyone's control.
