Review: order item added high shipping cost to makeup for the low price of item.

I purchased a "Mini" travel bag and during the cyber discounts last week. The bag was priced at $50.58 and I got the confirmation email, the shipping was not included on it. Not sure why until the package was shipped. The shipping was $16.11. I emailed the company and with no reply I called them. Asked why the shipping was so much and want to return the item or reduced shipping cost. He told be that if he reduces the shipping cost he would not make a profit on the product and he agreed to $8 for the shipping. This would allow him to break even. So I just checked the tracking of the package and he recalled the package. I have not received another emails about this purchase and HAVE NOT GOTTEN A REFUND. He lied to me about the reduced shipping price. What makes be even madder is the fact I have purchased items from this company in the past ... will never do it again.

Initial Business Response

Customer [redacted] placed his order on line and simply missed the fact the shipped would only be calculated at time of shipping. Shipping cost were as supplied and calculated by UPS based on the size and weight of the order and the Zip code being sent to (California to VA.) Billing weight was 6 pounds in a box 20"X8"X8". When he received the E-Mail invoice of the shipment he returned an e-mail to us that if the shipping was not free, he wanted to cancel the order. Per his instructions we then notified UPS to return the order to us. In the mean time he called us on the phone and agreed to splitting the freight cost. At this point we are still waiting for the return of the product by the shipping company. Until we received this notice from the Revdex.com it was our plan to then resend the special order product back again to the customer. At this point in time we will refund him the entire amount.

There are two points I would like to make about this purchase.

1) I tired communicating with him via email with no response which forced me to call. When a consumer asks a question the correct thing to do is respond.

2) after we agreed on a new shipping cost of half the original, I did not receive any verification of this. Meaning a refund of the $8, which would have been fine. But again no communication with me, I again had to email.

I have order merchandise from them in the past and would never again and would tell people not to purchase from them in the future.
