MINI of the Fox Valley Reviews (1)

Review: I took my car to the Mini Dealer for service and they did not do what they were supposed to do. The engine light was on and it was not running properly. When I took it to them they were supposed to do an oil change and find out what was wrong with the car. They called me the next day and told me that the spark plugs were due to be changed and I authorized that. I was called again and told the car was ready for pick up. I Paid $315.82 dollars to have the above work done and that also included a diagnostic check to see why the the car was not running correctly. I picked up my car and came home. The next day it started running rough again and the engine light came on. I called the dealer and they said it should be fine because it seemed to be running okay at the moment but I should bring it back when I have a chance. Well I took my car to work and it was running even worse than befor and I did not feel safe driving it to Appleton from Fond du Lac. So I took the car t o a local shop, ([redacted]) that I have been going to for years and that I completely trust. [redacted] said he would look at it as he had time. A few days later [redacted] contacted me and confirmed what work was done at the Mini dealer. I told him that they changed the plugs, oil and did a diagnostic. [redacted] said that was strange because there were two different spark plugs in the car, three Champions and one Beru. I immediately thought that was odd and now I no longer trusted the Mini dealer. [redacted] also told me that there was oil in by the spark plugs. This should not be and if the Mini dealer actually changed the spark plugs they would have known about the oil and fixed the problem. I had to have the oil leak fixed at [redacted] and the ignition coils were replaced. There was still a problem with the fourth cylinder missing and the engine not running right. I contacted the dealer about what [redacted] had found and they did not take any responsibility for it. They offered to have my car towed up there so they could do a full diagnostic and find out what was wrong. The car was towed up to there lot in Appleton and they looked at it and came up with basically the same diagnosis that [redacted] had. They told me they would give me a deal and fix it for $3000.00. I called another Mini dealer that I had no relationship with and told them what need to be done and they told me they could do it for $2500.00. I also fould a local shop that works on imports in Fond du Lac and they gave me a quote of $2700.00. I called Mini of the Fox Valley and told them I did not want them doing anymore work on my car and that I would pick it up. I went back there and had My car towed to Fond du Lac at a cost to my self of $204.67

The [redacted] would just say that he had no control of what happened at another shop. I told him tat I was very upset with this whole situation and that I would be contacting the Revdex.com and I would never do business with Bergstrom's again.Desired Settlement: I would like to be refunded for the full amount the service that was claimed to have been done. I firmly believe that the spark plugs were never changed in my car and that the diagnostic was not done. I don't even know if the oil was actually changed. That service bill was for $315.82

Case #[redacted] Dear Dispute

Resolution Center:Upon receipt of this

complaint, I contacted the [redacted] and the [redacted] of

the dealership – Bergstrom MINI of the Fox Valley – with the guest’s

concerns. [redacted], the Service

Manager, confirmed that when the guest’s vehicle was in for service, we

performed the work as authorized and paid for – changed the oil and replaced

the spark plugs. It is not our company’s

practice to not perform work that we have been paid for—that is not how we do

business. When further diagnosis showed

a bigger problem, the guest was given an estimate of $3,000.00 for the

repair. The final cost would be

calculated based on the actual work performed.

It is our sincere desire to continue to offer our services to our

guest. Mr. [redacted] has been

attempting to contact the guest to try to resolve the guest’s concerns, but

without success thus far. We encourage

our guest to please return Mr. [redacted]’s call so they can work together at a

mutually agreeable resolution. Thank

you.Very truly yours,[redacted]
