I was a happy Mini customer, now I'm an angry one
About one year ago I purchased a certified pre owned Mini Cooper HardtopGreg at Mini of Universal City was wonderfulHonest and helpfulI loved my car and I loved that it came with a year, 100,mile warrantyThen we sat down with our finance representativeI was on the fence regarding the maintenance coverage and decided against itAt which point my finance representative informed me servicing my Mini at any other mechanic would void the warranty, so of course I signedThat night when I went home a quick *** search proved that telling a customer that is a big no noI emailed the general manager the next day regarding my dissatisfaction and he responded quicklyon a Sunday evening no lessBy Monday morning the maintenance coverage was removed and I had signed all the corrected paperwork
Yes, this was a terrible lie and I know you've been reprimanded by the FTC, but I don't bring it up to complainI bring it up to make an example of the excellent and expedient customer service I receivedThanks to Greg and the GM I can look back fondly to my purchase at Mini of Universal
I was such a big fan, in fact I decided to buy a Countryman or Pacetman last monthMini of Universal didn't have the inventory I desired so I'd decided to look at Mini of ValenciaThis was a mistakeThe following is a time line of the service I have received since looking for a Countryman at Mini of Valencia
Jan 16, - Test drive the certified PacemanDon't like itDecide I need a Countryman for more spaceThe certified Countryman was listed as an automatic but is actually a manualI passI call Mini of Long Beach and they have a certified Countryman that may be perfect for meI tell our salesperson that I have found what I need elsewhereShe offers to have it brought to ValenciaI declineShe checks with her manager to see if there's anything they can do for meEric *** the general manager, discovers a certified Countryman that has never been labeledWe test drive it and say we like the car but won't take it until we have proof that the car is certifiedThey ask us to leave and go to lunch so they can find the paperworkWe come back and they hand us the comepleted certified checklistWe agree and purchase the car
Jan - The check engine light comes onWith a slash through itI take it to the dealership (miles round trip) to find that there is something wrong with solenoid valve and the crankshaft
Jan - The car is fixedWe pick it up(miles round trip)
Jan - I receive the customer satisfaction survey
Jan - I fill out the customer satisfaction survey indicating that I am unhappyI also indicate that I would like to be contacted by Mini Corporate
Jan - Mini Corporate emails me asking for a description of the problemI do not have the opportunity to respond as I am dealing with a family emergency out of state
Jan - Mini of Valencia Sales manager emails me to let me know he has gotten my survey response and will call meHe doesn't
Feb - I email the Sales Manager at Mini of Valencia alerting him to fact that I feel that the problems the car has had are making question if was even inspectedI also note that we have now discovered that behind the rear seats is filthyPapers, rocks, garbage, french friesAnd it smellsHe does not respond
I send the same email to Mini Corporate
Feb - Mini Corporate callsQuickly asks if I want to make the complaint formalI say yes, I want something doneHe says Thank you and that's it
Feb -
415AM PST I email Mini Corporate again asking why I haven't heard anything
1054AM Dane Cook calls me from MiniI miss the call
I call him back at 2PM and 5PM and he doesn't answerI speak to another customer service rep and he says that Dane will call me on Monday
When I get home from work, I find the car is leaking coolant onto the pavementI schedule a service appointment for the next morning at 8AM
I review our certified paperwork once again doubting it's authenticity and notice that the Countryman should have come with two keysA fact that we asked our sales person and she insisted that it only came with one key
9PM I leave Dane *** a voicemail letting him know of the new problems with the car as well as the missing key
Feb - I drop the Countryman off at my appointment time (miles round trip)and they don't get to it that day
Feb - The service department lets me know that the water pump was leaking and has been repairedAlso, there is a screw in the run flatWe pay $to replace the tireWe pick up the car(miles round trip)
I never hear from Mini Corporate and Dane never answers my calls
Feb - I call Dane multiple times and get no answerHe calls once and I miss it
I call Eric *** GM of Mini of Valencia and leave a messageEric calls me back shortly, says he couldn't answer because he has meetings,
