Mining City Compounding Pharmacy

I am writing in response to the above referenced complaintUpon filling a compounded prescription, all customers are informed we do not bill insurances, and given the appropriate cash priceIt is up to the customer whether or not they would like to accept these conditions and take the prescription or notThis customer agreed to pay the cash price under these conditionsHim bringing in a claim form to have us fill it out, is another form of "billing insurance for prescriptions", which we do not doI am sorry if there was some sort of confusion, or if we gave him any reason to believe we were able to fill out his insurance's paperwork We compound many prescriptions for many different patientsWe would love to be able to assist when possible, but it simply is not possible to provide this serviceMany of the compounded prescriptions we prepare have up to five or more ingredientsIf we were to fill out all of the claim forms, for all of our customers, we would spend entire days on nothing but paperworkWe really do not have the time to provide this serviceIn addition to the time constraint, most insurance claim forms ask for an item called AWP, or average wholesale price, for each ingredientWe do not have those prices available to us, nor do I know where to get that information Lastly, I'd like to say that prior to a few years ago, insurance companies allowed the pharmacy to print out claim forms which they used for billingThese claim forms list all pertinent information, such as the ingredients, quantity of ingredients and total cost to the patientJust recently, the insurance companies have decided to not accept those claim forms and ask for this additional information to be providedWhat would be the purpose of this? I am rejecting this response because: I did agree to pay for prescription in cash, which I did not have a problem with. At that time, I said I would submit the claim to my insurance myself. When I filled out the claim form, I noticed there was information needed to be filled out by the pharmacy. When I brought it up to be filled out, I then was informed they would not do it. They did not inform me when I agreed to pay for it in cash, that they would not fill the required information out. If I would have known this, I would have had my doctor send in the prescription to another pharmacy that would fill it out accordingly.

  We compound many prescriptions for many different patients. We would love to be able to assist when possible, but it simply is not possible to provide this service. Many of the compounded prescriptions we prepare have up to five or more ingredients. If we were to fill out all of the claim forms, for all of our customers, we would spend entire days on nothing but paperwork. We really do not have the time to provide this service.
