Minnesota Geotechnical Services Reviews (%countItem)

Mark was hired to inspect a clients septic system. He came and did the inspection and informed me and my client that the septic system failed. He said it was the worst system he has ever seen. He made comments like you only see systems this bad that are running meth labs from the home, he said she must be running a Chinese laundromat out of the home, he also said our client had to be flushing bad chemicals into her system to remove the sm layer, he said the city of Albertville was there during his inspection and that they couldn't believe how bad the system was. He tried much too hard to convince us and he wasn't getting the inspection report to us causing red flags. We decided on contacting 2 other septic companies. We had Tristan from Ende Septic Service do a 2nd inspection and Tony *** from *** Excavating came and took a look. Ende Septic said there was nothing wrong with the system, he did a full inspection. The Septic passed with zero issues. Because Mark had sent the report to the city there had to be a meeting between Mark, Ende and the city to make a decision of the system's compliance. The system was passed and the city of Albertville is unhappy with Mark. Our Client paid Mark $375 to do the inspection and we believe he owes her in the amount of $375 for the dishonest inspection. He also was going to charge her to design and install an entire new system. He is not running his business with morals or good ethics. He is untrustworthy and people need to know this before giving him their business.

Minnesota Geotechnical Services Response • Jan 20, 2020

I was at the address when there was no snow or ice which the other inspector cannot say as they were there with 12" of snow on the system. I called the city and the building official came out and said the mound is a mess and the tanks obvious leaks. I sent the pictures to Dave *** at the U of M. Dave called me almost immediately and said "OK, the mound fails" and I told him that I had found 3 holes that seem to go straight down to rock bed.

So I didn't just fail a system for no reason I had 2 other professionals confirm that the mound did not nor should pass an inspection. This all hinges on the fact that the second inspector did not see what I saw was not there when I was there but I did have someone else when I was there.

Septic certifications are based on the OPINION of the inspector and are meant to protect human health and the environment which is something I take very seriously.

She did not like my opinion and has taken to be very abusive towards me. She hired someone else who would sign off on it.

If that system fails under the other inspection, it is on the second inspector's head and hers but not mine.

She is not getting a refund for 2 reasons: 1. She had no problem with the water test results which were part of the charges and 2. She paid for my opinion of her system.
