Contracted with company in July 2019 to replace windows, install an egress window and do a garage remodel at my daughter's, home. On September 14, 2019 I sent an email to the owner expressing frustration and disappointment with the workmanship and communication related to our project with a detailed list of items to be corrected, a second email was sent on 10/13 as not all issues were addressed and a third email sent on 10/20. Concerns: 1) Poor workmanship and defective products: Workers installed defective products (ex: windows with scratches, indoor window framing was not correct product, all frames had cracks,not properly painted, screen for a basement window not correct size; painting in garage remodel had noticeable splotches; poor quality caulking inside/outside; damage to siding of house during window installation. 2) Communication: 3 emails plus phone calls and face to face meetings have not resulted in resolving our dissatisfaction; use of subcontractors with no written contract/ agreement led to confusion re: garage remodel; significant delay in getting window issues resolved.
Some issues have been resolved to our satisfaction. These have not been resolved: outside window caulking, splotches have reappeared on wall in back garage space, kitchen window frame has a gap.
The following is an email I sent to *** today:
I just forwarded my response that I sent to you last email before Jessica sent the invoice. Please review and let me know what you would like to do?
I also just talked to my Lindsay window rep. He would like to come on thurs the 19th and take a look at the windows and give you a couple of options on fixing the kitchen window. He will be calling you today. I can also come at the same time and fix the caulking. The caulk we use can be used when its cold.
Here is the response to her last email that I sent that she said I didn't send. I resent it to her so she could see that I did respond:
I remember saying that I could try and put another bead of caulk over the existing to try and make it look smoother but also at the same time stating that applying a bead of caulk that wide is not easy to do and is hard to make look good. The caulk we use can be used upto zero degrees. So I can have someone come out and and do that on a decently warm day and give it a try if you would like?What other work quality are you talking about that you are not satisfied with other than the issue with the screen channel on the kitchen window?I will have Jessica send you the invoices and statement showing the outstanding balance. If you would like to just write a check, I am fine with that. You can even just email her a pic of it and she can process it electronically and it will save you a trip here and or a stamp.Sent Dec 11th at 9:29 am
I am rejecting this response because: the company is not taking responsibility for poor quality work and customer dissatisfaction.
