Initial Business Response /* (1000, 6, 2015/11/09) */
[redacted] was apast customer of Nanik Electric that was bought out by MVI on June 1SIof 2014. InNovember of 2014 [redacted] called and asked if we can x appliances. I respondedto him with a yes as Ihave xed many appliances in my 13 years as an...

electrician. On November 26'h of20l4 we sent out our technician, Shayne, to Mr. [redacted]'s residence to troubleshoot his stove, refrigerator and dryer. Shayne is a licensed electrician. Upon arrival our technician checked to see if there was proper power to each appliance. He did nd that there was good power to eachappliance. Our Technician then opened
the electrical panel. He noticed that there was a large mouse nest in the panel. Our tech, Shayne, then cleaned out the mouse nest as it was amajor re hazard.
After cleaning the mouse nest out, Shayne called me for help. After I arrived we went on to check the dryer. I found that the heating element was bad.Itold the customer that I would try to locate the correct parts to x this for him. After checking around I was told that parts for that dryer are not manufactured anymore.
We then looked at the customer's refrigerator. We found that it was not cooling properly. My experience lead me to believe that the issue was with the compressor. We found that the compressor was full of animal hair andexcrement. We cleaned it to the best of our abiiity using our hands andthe customers vacuum. It was agreed that he would clean it better from there.
After that we went on to look at his gas range. I found that the problem was that the thermocouple was faulty as his range was not igniting. Iexplained to him that we do not repair thermocouples as our licensing does not allow for that. I stated that he would need to contact someone who was qualied to complete the work. Iprovided him with a few names that he could call.
It is my opinion that the general condition of the customer's house is what caused all of the problems that he had with his appliances. There was rat excrement everywhere around his appliances, as well as random rat and/or mouse nests in the electrical panel as stated before and also in the range and refrigerator.
I feel that we did everything possible within legal parameters to resolve his issues. The heating element was taken to try to nd the exact part and when none was found the element was disposed of. I am not sure what schematic he is referring to or where it is. We have forgiven his bill even though I feel that he owes us for our labor especially since our employees were put in an unhealthy environment. For that I feel that we should be compensated. We had4 hours of my time that was never included 011his bill. I feel that these complaints were his way of trying to elude paying this bill.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (2000, 8, 2015/11/16) */
(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
I agree to be done dealing with this company and individual in all ways shapes and forms since the bill was forgiven which should of been done from the onset since that was told to my father and I to begin with. there are some inaccuracies that do need to be addressed 1) being that a vacuum was used on the fridge. there wasn't at that time as I did not have a working vacuum and the individual stated they would bring one out and complete that task. 2) I was never given a list of people to contact as it was he who said he knew people and would send them out.3) a licensed electrician does NOT make them a home appliance repairmen.4) as a past customer with Nanik Electric and him working for them at the time should know I don't elude anyone payment for actual work completed that they said would be done, also that he was apart of putting the electrical box in he should of assured then that there were no additional knock outs removed to prevent a mouse nest. Finally this attempt to make my house sound unhealthy is simply a way of slandering my name, with a big company such as MVI I would of expected some professionalism, honesty and integrity from someone in this capacity, its unfortunate that MVI allowed one to slip through the cracks in this case. This problem would of been resolved a year ago had this person had any of those qualities!
