THIS CUSTOMER PURCHASED THE 1995 FORD, F-150 FROM MINT AUTO SALES, INC., ON 12/08/2013 FOR ONLY $5990.00.....WHICH HAD A BLUEBOOK VALUE OF $6,827.00 WHICH WAS DISCLOSED TO MR. & MRS. [redacted].  FURTHER THEY WERE OFFERED A SERVICE CONTRACT UPTO3 YEARS/36000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE AND THEY...

DECLINED TO PURCHASE THE WARRANTY!! The interesting part is we never heard from the [redacted]'S until their account was turned over to a collection company for non-payment.  The obvious issue here is they just don't want to pay for their purchase.  The vehicle was financed by [redacted],  The collectionagency has or is about to file suit in court. Under the circumstances this firm will not offer nor become involved in their issues with the finance company. L. N . WILHITE, MINT AUTO SALES, INC......[redacted]

Review: I went to Mint Auto Sales to purchase a car 12/9/13. I ended up getting a 2000 Honda Accord EX. So as I drove off the lot it was okay driving, the next morning the engine light came on. I took it back so the sales representative [redacted] could look at the car, he turn off the engine light in the car but it began jerking & spoke to him about it. He said it's nothing don't work about it. However, 2 wks later the car brakes down. I called Mint Auto Sales seeking help and they start avoiding me calls and than we they decide to talk to me they said there's nothing they could do for me. I informed them that I haven't received my tags and registration either... Therefore, I informed [redacted] I was going to get a diagnostic done at two different places to see what the mechanics come up with.

First Mechanics at Roseville Auto Parts & Repair stated this Honda Accord needs a motor land, he quoted $2500 dollars for engine & labor. Free diagnostic, Amar stated need a motor.

Second Mechanic at Motive Car stated that I would need $2000 for engine and labor and may cost more it all depends once engine is broke down. [redacted] quoted $85 dollars for diagnostic only charged $50 due to the fact the car was really not good. I had been sold a lemon less than 30 days.

Therefore after informing [redacted] @ Mint Auto Sales about the car needed a motor. He was telling there's nothing the can do. Therefore I called to Bank the approved the car loan which was [redacted]. I informed them of situation I was informed to contact them back once I contact Revdex.com to see how they could be of some assistanceDesired Settlement: I would consider fair is to replace my engine to my 2000 Honda Accord or refund my money and have credit acceptance rescinded the loan.

Response:

This customer was offered the opportunity to purchase a warranty on the car at the time of purchase, she decided to purchase the car AS-IS!! The car was towed to Mint Auto Sales, Inc., on Thursday, 03-27-2014....we noticed the gas gauge was on empty, the person ([redacted]) said "the gas gauge doesn't work, it has gas"....we tried to start the car and it would not start....we then put about five gallons in the car....I noticed the gas gauge was responding....I showed [redacted]....The car then did start, however it was missing badly....we then noticed the radiator was leaking water very badly....obviously this customer has driven and overheated the engine, it's rather interesting to note that she has driven the car almost 3,000 miles!! No warranty that I know of would cover engine repairs if the engine has been overheated!! So, even if she had purchased a warranty it would not cover the overheating of the engine, and we certainly will not either. Here's a customer that continues to make false statements trying to get something for nothing!!

Response:

I am rejecting this response because:

I'm writing this letter in response to Mint Auto Sales response. First and foremost, I am not making up and false statements at all.

First, let me start off by saying I was basically manipulated by this car lot and I was sold a lemon car that didn't run appropriately. The car was running from Dec. 9, 2013 to January 3rd, 2014. However, I took the car back to the lot the next day because the engine light had came on, also because it was jerking from time to time. I was very concern.

Another thing when the car wasn't performing I took it to two different repair shops to have diagnostic done. I was informed by both shops that this 2000 Honda Accord needs a engine.

Therefore, I informed the car lot of this matter up front and the ignored me completely. Therefore, I filed a complaint with the Revdex.com and contacted Credit Acceptance in regards to this matter.

Last week of March 27th, Thursday afternoon Mr. [redacted] informed me to bring the car to his lot he will take care of the matter, however Mr. [redacted] after having the car towed to [redacted]e [redacted], CA he took the car to [redacted] Auto Repair leaving me with impression he was going to take car of this matter.

Which he lied. [redacted] Auto Repair called my phone informing me that [redacted] informed her I was the one going to sign papers for repairs. I informed her that the person who brought the car to your shop is responsible for the repair not me. She needs to talk to [redacted] and [redacted] again because they mislead her.

However, all the other things I spoke about in my first complaint is not just false statement.

For instance, I haven't receive any tags or registration for this car or smog which I was informed that last smog was 12/3/12 and it was due 12/3/13, however Mint Auto Sales sold me the car without proper procedure because the smog suppose to be done 90 days prior to the sale of the vehicle wasn't done.

Another thing I have been putting out my money and time I have no reason to make false statement.

Therefore, I have enclose the bar.ca.gov information for the smog which wasn't performed prior to get this car from Mint Auto Sales. Itemized paper from Mint Auto Sales stating they performed smog on car which isn't true.

Proof of issues with car:

Smog information

Response to letter Mint Auto Sales

Also I would like Mint Auto Sales to know I will be contacting Department of Motor Vehicles & Investigations.

Response:

Hello[redacted]......Let's take [redacted]'s statements that are UNTRUE, FALSE or UNAWARE of State Law. Even in this last statement it's full of false statements!!

The car was running perfectly when we sold the car to[redacted]!! If it was not, who in their right mind would purchase a car that wasn't running properly. [redacted] is in her sixties and I'm sure this is not the first car she has ever purchased and she signed several documents stating that she was purchasing the car "AS-IS".

The repair shop she took it to - [redacted] Car Care, Inc., plainly states "DIAGNOSIS ENGINE OVERHEATING". [redacted] Car Care, Inc., states the car has 253442 miles.....Now, if the engine was running bad from the time of purchase at 250,777.....why would any person continue to drive it 2,665 miles?? POWELL obviously OVERHEATED the car!! NO DOUBT ABOUT IT!!

It's true I did suggest she bring the car to Mint Auto Sales, Inc., so I could look at the car and see If I could determine the problem. When I would ask her what was wrong with the car, all she could say was it needs an engine. Well when I checked the car....it was again obvious what her own repair shop had told her.....she had OVERHEATED the engine. I NEVER STATED THAT I WOULD TAKE CARE OF THE PROBLEM.....THAT'S A LIE!! Like so many others she's made!!

We have a copy of the registration for the 2000 Honda issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles, she can obtain a copy from them or Mint Auto Sales, Inc. The Registration was issued by the Depart- ment of Motor Vehicles on 12/24/2013.

Next she states Smog supposed to be done 90 days.....That's simply NOT TRUE. Auto Dealers have two (2) years from the time the car is smogged to the date of sale.

Here's a person who is simply looking for someone to pay for her mistake, and to obtain that she will obviously make all kinds of false, misleading statements to obtain something for nothing!!

MINT AUTO SALES, INC., will NOT GIVE FREE REPAIRS TO[redacted] CAR, as it's more that obvious that's what she wants!!

Response:

First and foremost there's no reason to lie about anything period. My statements are what happened period.

Review: This place is the worst place to buy a car! They prey on the poor with outrageous interest rates and crappy cars. We purchased a Ford F-150 a few months back. During the test drive, we mentioned a knocking sound, but [redacted], the salesman, said it was noise from a lifter and it would go away the more we drove it. Well, we gave it time and the sound grew louder and louder. When we could afford it, we took it to a mechanic who thoroughly examined it and told us that knocking sound was because the engine was bad and that it was not worth replacing!! When I called and told [redacted] this news and reminded him that he said it was a lifter. He quickly started back peddling saying, "Well, I'm not a mechanic." I asked him why he had acted like one in telling us what the problem was and that it would go away. He flat out lied to us!! He did not offer to try and make it right. WE WILL NEVER RECOMMEND MINT AUTO SALES TO ANYONE!! They are predators, preying on the poor!! STAY AWAY!!!Desired Settlement: Since the truck is a loss, due to the inoperable engine, we would like our remaining balance adjusted. The original cost of the truck was $5990.00. We have paid over half that balance for a truck that doesn't run. I believe we've suffered enough and Mint should write off the balance. They can even have the truck back.
