Minute RDU Taxi

RDU Minute Taxi failed to provide a taxi when requested. They ignored calls at the pickup time, and have since declined to address the situation.On May 16, 2014, I ordered a taxi from RDU Minute Taxi by phone for an early morning pickup the next day (May 17) from my home in [redacted] to RDU Airport. 4:00AM came and went, but the promised taxi did not appear. I called the company multiple times, with no response. I left several increasingly panicky messages, indicating that we were getting uncomfortably close to our flight's departure time. Eventually, half an hour after we were supposed to be picked up, a different taxi company called me and told me that they had heard that we needed a ride (presumably, Minute RDU Taxi felt that just handing us off to another taxi company would make up for forgetting about us and declining to respond to my calls). By the time that the other taxi company arrived, it was 4:45. Because of this delay, we did not make it to the airport in time to check in and we missed our flights.We have not yet received any sort of apology from Minute RDU Taxi. I have called several times since we returned from our trip, and each time I have been fobbed off with stories of "I will look into it and get back to you" or "The person responsible for dealing with this sort of thing isn't here right now." Despite my calls, they have not apologized for causing us miss our flights, reimbursed us for the higher rate that we had to pay for the other taxi service, or even called me back as they promised to do each time I spoke with them.Desired SettlementI would primarily like an acknowledgment of & apology for the difficulties that RDU Minute Taxi caused me and those who were traveling with me by failing to pick us up as promised. Additionally, we would like a refund of the amount we had to pay the other taxi company ($60) to take us to the airport, or at the very least $30 (the difference between that expense and RDU Minute Taxi's advertised taxi rates from [redacted] to RDU of $30).
