Review: Due to a fire I needed repairs to my home. In March, 2014 I contracted with Mirabella Contracting to make those repairs. On 3/**/14 [redacted] one of the three brother owners came out to collect the $3500.00 deposit to begin the work. One room had demo and sheetrock of walls, ceiling and floor. Two rooms had demo and sheetrock of ceilings. Four windows were to be replaced and two floors were to be sanded and polyed and one was to be re-tiled. On 3/**/14 [redacted] received an additional $2000.00 and on 3/**/14 an additional $1500.00. Then [redacted] told me he needed and additional $2750.00 to finish the job. Once he had a total of $9750.00 the excuses started. His truck broke down, he had no way to get to my home. He couldn't get anyone to drive him over to finish the work. His drivers license was suspended. It is now June and nothing has been done since March. My home is a total wreck. the walls need additional sheetrock, the walls and ceiling are not painted,the windows are not in, the floors that needed sanding are destroyed by compound that was carelessly dripped over the floors. My furniture is destroyed because they didn't have the common sense to cover the furniture properly. Items were broken. I contacted [redacted] and asked him what he was going to do about the floors he told me to purchase laminate flooring and he would personally install. I purchased the flooring and then received a call from Home Depot informing me that the flooring had not been picked up by the contractor. I called [redacted] to inquire about the flooring and was told to hire one of the guys the hang out in front of Home Depot. I received a text message from [redacted] on 5/**/14 telling me that he was not returning to finish the job. I inquired about a refund since he had all the money and I could not hire anyone else he said he would try to send me some money to date I have not received any refund nor have I heard from [redacted].Desired Settlement: I would perfer a refund because it is clear that [redacted] had no intention of completing the job. However, if Mirabella Contracting completed the job to my satisfaction with no additional cost to me I would accept that as settlement. With that said I do honestly think I would really prefer the refund so that I can find a honest contractor if such a company exist.
