Miracle-Ear, Inc. - Headquarters Reviews (%countItem)

As part of a $5,800 purchase for hearing aids made on Dec 5, 2018, the Miracle-Ear affiliate in Palm Desert, CA promised to provide 3 years worth of hearing aid batteries FREE. As 2 batteries (1 battery for each of two hearing aids) last about 1 week (the size of my batteries are 312), 52 batteries somewhat-accurately represent a 6 month supply. As batteries come in boxes as a '48 Pack', roughly speaking 1 box of 48 batteries lasts about 6 months. This means I was entitled to 6 boxes of 48 batteries in each box. As I paid for my hearing aids IN FULL, I asked the person in charge (Charles ***) to provide me with ALL BATTERIES PROMISED or 6 boxes of batteries (48 batteries per box). Charles refused! He instead gave me one (1) box (48 batteries) and told me that I would have to wait until these ran out then he would give me more. In May 2019 as the last of the 48 batteries were being used, my wife and I decided to move from California to Minnesota. As Charles *** told me the FREE BATTERY arrangement was to be provided by HIS OFFICE (Palm Desert, CA), I told him that I required him to give me the rest of the batteries to which I was entitled or 5 more boxes. He refused! He instead gave me 2 boxes (48 batteries X 2 = 96 batteries) and told me that when these 2 boxes ran out (would run out approximately May 2020) that I was to contact him via Email and he would mail me the remaining 3 boxes his office owed to me. On June 3, I Emailed Charles *** PLUS mailed a letter to his office demanding the final 3 boxes be shipped. Charles *** has ignored both my Email and written request and has provided NO BATTERIES. The entire process was highly suspicious from the beginning. I made several verbal and written requests that Charles *** provide me ALL BATTERIES to which I was promised as part of the purchase. He has REFUSED at every turn to honor his obligation.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 14527374, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

My mother has had a hearing aid on order for three months. It was supposed to take 3 weeks I think. It is affecting her quality of life horribly. It is paid for and cannot get another through insurance or we would. Her name is Welna *** of Fairfax Oklahoma. She is a client of miracle ear in Bartlesville. She relys on her one good ear which HAS to have the heating aid. I have found her crying because she can't hear. The company will not answer the phone. Their website will not work for complaint. My sister and I have had at least 10 conversations with the office before they closed for pandemic. Insurance had already paid. It's 2 thousand dollars! We cannot afford to go somewhere else and pay cash. Please help.

Hello,

Thank you for contacting us regarding your mother's hearing aid order. We apologize that your family's experience with Miracle-Ear was not up to either your or our standards of customer care.

We have reviewed your mother's records and do not see any record of payment from the insurance company. As such, it does not seem that any payment has been received and we are able to proceed with cancelling the order if you like. If you have other information regarding payment please send any documentation you have related to such to my attention either through the Revdex.com portal or directly to ***.

Thank you,

Andi

Bad hearing aids from beginning multiple complaints, multiple attempts to repair during coverage period , hearing aids still not working properly, attempted resolution but was advised we will call you, we will call you never heard back; what a coincidence considering coverage conveniently running out and being put off. So now $2000-3000. Later I have non working hearing aids unable to communicate with family, friends or enjoy simple things such as TV or Radio. How is this acceptable?

Hello,

Please let me know where the aids were purchased. I am having a hard time finding William Watkins at the center below:

If the aids were purchased at another location, please reach back out to me and let me know so I can research further.

Thank you,

After 3 different pairs of hearing aids that continually quit working and almost $7,000 lost, I can’t believe this company is still allowed to operate. Never mind that their “specialists” have no medical training AND you waive your right to an evaluation by a doctor, but they refuse to refund your money even within the 30 days. My grandmother has been in tears multiple times because the specialist at our Miracle-Ear location belittles her and refuses to give her a refund. I honestly can’t believe this company is still allowed to operate considering at this point it should be considered stealing money from the elderly. Avoid at all costs!

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to us through the Revdex.com. We are sorry to hear about the recent experience you have had at the Lynwood, WA office. Please confirm the name of the patient who purchased the aids from Miracle Ear. I am unable to find *** in the system.

Thank you for your time and attention to this matter,

Amber

My father went to the Miracle Ear in Medford MA a couple of months ago.
They did an evaluation for him and told him he needed hearing aids. They told him he could pay monthly and proceeded to provide him with paperwork to get credit for the hearing aids. He thought about the cost and went back to tell them he did not want to buy them and thought that it was over with.
He is now receiving bills form HealthiPlan with a total balance of almost $5000! He does not have the hearing aids specifically told them he did not wish to purchase them and apparently they proceeded to make them and process the paperwork.
He is almost 83 years old and did not wish to do this. He does not have the product told them he did not want to purchase them. We want the billing to stop as he never agreed to this and again as I stated he told them he did not want them.

I purched a set of Miracle Hearing aids 0n 4/30/2019 from the Schaumburg Hearing Aid Center at ***.
They were not satisfactory and I returned them on May 28,2019, well within the 30 day trial period. I've been waiting for my refund check for 2 1/2 weeks

Customer Response • Jun 14, 2019

Received refund

Id scheduled then declined a hearing screen about 4 weeks ago. Since then I have received 8 calls wanting to reschedule, talk with a sales rep, wanting to explain pricing options, etc. I've politely told them that I wasn't interested in Miracle Ear, to please take me off their calling list. Since then, the call frequency has increased to the point of harrassment. 6/4/2019 they called twice. It is now 1100, 6/5/2019 and they just called again. I've warned them about filling a lawsuit for harrassment. It obviously fell on deaf ears. I want them to leave me alone. Calls were from the Rolla, Ballwin and Springfield MO offices.

Miracle-Ear, Inc. - Headquarters Response • Jun 06, 2019

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I spoke with the Rolla store and the Front Office Assistant assured me that Mrs. has been removed from the call list for these stores. I do apologize for the inconvenience.

My 84 year old mother purchased hearing aids and was given a 30 day return policy This was extended to 60 days by the Reidsville, NC store For the last 30 days she has been in the hospital and then to a rehab facility I realize they extended it to 60 days but mama was not able to wear them the extra 30 days due to health problems. We went back to Miracle Ear today and explained the situation and that she had not been able to use them the complete 60 days and asked if due to our circumstances would they do a refund for them because she can not use these We were told that they company would only give at the most 60 days I understand that but I think there should be some exceptions for certain situation Now mama has a $4500 pair of hearing aids she can't use The man didn't offer to call and see if they would possibly consider this situation. They were supposed to be returned by 4/19 we couldn't get them by there due to taking care of our mother I feel he should have made some effort by calling to see if they would consider this in any way. I will definitively be giving bad reviews if they don't help out in this case.

I am rejecting this response because: my mother is in a memory unit in a n assisted living home. She has no idea what is going on. We explained this to miracle ear. She will never be able to use the hearin aids period! We cannot leave the heat aids with her there is no telling where they may end up. The other person they are working with is my sister ***. She went to miracle ear in person and told him the situation. When these were ordered for my mother she was capable of wearing and keeping up with them now she isn’t. She spent 8 days in the hospital and then 14 days in rehab at a skilled nursing facility. When carried back to the assisted living home she could no longer be left by herself and had to be put on the Alzheimer’s unit. It doesn’t matter what he does or how he does it they aren’t going to work. He also told us he would be out this past Friday to fix them and then sometime late Friday he called my sister and told her he would be there yesterday. I was up there until 4:00 and he hadn’t shown up or called to let us know anything. I am very upset with this man and Reidsville is a small town and he better believe everyone I can get to by email social media or word of mouth will be told NOT to go to see them. Besides he stole over $4000 from my mother that she needs to live on since she has had to go to the Alzheimer’s unit. I guess they will end up getting everything she has to cover the stay up there.

I purchased a hearing aid for my mother from the 4265 Tamiami Tr., Port Charlotte, FL, 33980 store on 11/15/16. She has had issues with it and has taken it for adjustments a few times but with each "Adjustment" the hearing aid gets worse and worse. Now the store representatives are saying she needs to "Upgrade" to the newest model which is $7,000! It has been a little over 2 years since I bought her current unit which cost $5,000. I have a feeling that this company prays on the elderly. They get you with the promise of Free Lifetime Service, 3 year Warranty but once you buy a unit their interest in helping you is non existent unless your going to buy the latest and greatest. I am disappointing and highly upset. Especially right now because her hearing is more important then ever. Our dad...her HUSBAND is in critical condition in the hospital and she needs to be able to hear clearly to make sure she is fully understanding what is going on. This makes me even more upset because she trusted Miracle Ear and bought the "Best" model. More like the most expensive one. If this issue does not get resolved soon I will be left with no choice but to seek legal advise on this matter.

Courteous, seemed to care about my condition!

The unethical, law breaking *** at Miracle Ear Inc, Paso Robles, CA 93446, *** are making illegal telemarketing calls to parties who are on the Do Not Call List.

I have to say Miracle Ear is the worst especially working with elderly. They get you to by their horrible (always needing repairs) hearing aides. My mother purchased 2, needed to finance because of such high cost and since day one. they both have been sent out for repairs. now since warrantee is now expired and the are still needing repair, they want to charge her. She is still paying for them and they never worked right to begin with. They should be ashamed of themselves.

I purchased hearing aids from Miracle Ear approximately 18 months ago. I have had to request replacement of devices numerous times. The hearing aids do not fit correctly and I have to re-insert them every ten to fifteen minutes. I was told that a custom ear piece could be fitted to the device but when I complained again the length of the tubing was increased but that did not solve the problem. Currently one of the hearing aids is dead. I have not had time to drive the 20 miles to Silverdale, WA. where the hearing aids were purchased to return the dead device. I contacted with this company for about 5k dollars and I feel that I have been ripped off.

Customer Response • Jan 12, 2018

I am rejecting this response because: I have received an offer from the franchisee to meet with him to discuss the problem. The problem is not his problem or my problem. The problem is that Miracle Ear devices are not reliable. I have had to replace at least four devices at minimum; I have lost count. For the money these devices have an unacceptable failure rate. The devices fit so poorly that I have lost them while working out in the yard. This is not at all what I expected for the amount of money that I contracted to pay.

I am 70 years old, I went to the Miracle-Ear location in Kearny NJ with the help of an interpreter. I purchased Miracle-ear and after a couple of months I noticed that I was getting severe debilitating headaches. When I went to return this product to the location they advised me that the refund policy was only 30 days. I barely used the product and in addition the cost is in Excess of $4,900.
