In [redacted] of 2007 I had Miracle Method refinish my bathroom tile, that work consisted of my bathtub ,shower surround including ceiling, and the walls in the main part of the bathroom which are tiled approx. halfway. The cost for that work was two thousand dollars. I had my own contractor supervise the work and was satisfied with the results. During this process they applied the finish over the caulking in the tub area and had to come back to correct that and I understand that this is not a current practice. [redacted] of 2013 I contracted Miracle Method to repair tiles that were damaged due to plumbing work that was done. I paid [redacted] for that work on [redacted] X XXXX by [redacted] he had no problem matching the color to the rest of the bathroom and I was satisfied with the results. On [redacted] 1 & ** 2013 I had Miracle Method return to refinish my tub at the cost of [redacted] the technician was [redacted] The day after the work was done it was clear that the tub was a different color than the rest of the bathroom. The bathroom tile was white and the tub was gray. I immediately called Miracle Method and they sent the technician back to correct the problem, and the solution was to spray the rest of the shower surround the same grey as the tub which left me with a bathroom that was two different colors. In addition to the color issue everything in my bathroom had overspray on it including a new vanity, custom plantation shutters, painted woodwork, and the threshold. I pointed that out to the technician and he attempted to clean the threshold and left. I called Miracle Method repeatedly over the next several weeks and was always told someone would get back to me. One occasion someone on the phone asked me who the technician was when I advised [redacted] she replied he doesnt work here anymore. I then contacted the corporate office and sent a written complaint with the same info as above to [redacted] sometime in the fall of 2013. My desired resolution was that the bathroom was all one color. I was subsequently contacted by a [redacted] who is now the Miracle Method owner for [redacted] and made arrangements for [redacted] to look at the bathroom and assess the how to correct the color issue. On [redacted] 2013 [redacted] the technician came and sprayed the walls of my bathroom to match the color of the tub and shower stall, when he was finished I expressed concern that the colors were still different and he told me that when he wet sanded the seam between the two areas the color difference would be negligible. He came back in [redacted] of 2014 to do that part of the job and I again expressed concern that the bathroom was still two colors. He contacted his boss and told me that they would re spray the entire bath for [redacted] Im not sure if by his boss he meant [redacted] or [redacted] but I told him I would have to consult with my husband. In [redacted] 2014 I noticed an area in the shower stall was peeling I contacted Miracle Method and [redacted] came out and advised me it was a simple repair so I scheduled a technician to come out on [redacted] X XXXX . The technician was [redacted] I noticed peeling again, contacted Miracle Method, [redacted] came out to assess and [redacted] C came on [redacted] to repair peeling again. Almost immediately the places that were repaired started to peel again I called Miracle Method and repeated the process again; [redacted] came on [redacted] to assess and a female technician came on Nov 24. Again more peeling [redacted] returned on [redacted] and a technician came on [redacted] 9 to repair. Almost immediately the peeling started again [redacted] was scheduled to come out yet again on [redacted] but cancelled I think due to weather issues. On [redacted] 2 [redacted] came to assess and I asked him what it was going to take to correct this as it was a huge inconvenience and to be quite frank the entire situation was created by Miracle Method doing substandard work when they finished my bathtub incorrectly, I still have a bathroom that is two different colors and a recurrent peeling problem. His response to me was this was an inconvenience for Miracle Method! He then advised me that there was going to be a charge to repair as this wasnt warranty work, however the bathtub is under warranty and again this additional work was done to compensate for the tub being done incorrectly. He also seemed to have some type of epiphany as to what would correct the peeling problem even though he had been to my house to assess the damage several times and was fully aware of the history as I would repeat it to him every time he came and there was a written complaint on file from the fall of 2013. Again I will reiterate that all I did was call Miracle Method in good faith to do what should have been simple repairs to what was their original work, and I willingly paid for those repairs with the expectation that they would at least be able to match to color of the original work that was done by Miracle Method! The technician had no problems matching colors on the first repair to the tiles in [redacted] 2013. My bathroom was in still excellent condition from the original work and Miracle Method has done nothing but exacerbate the problem by trying to throw some quick band aids over problems that they have caused with substandard work. I contacted Miracle Method during this time period as follows: XXX XXX-XXXX X-XX-XXX-XX-XXX-X-XXX-XX-XXX-XX-XXXX-XX-XXXX-XX-XXXX-XX-XXXX-XX-XXX-XX-XXX-X-XXX... XXX-XXXX XX-X-XXX-X-XXX-X-XXX-X-XXX-XX-XXXXX XXX-XXXXXX-XX-XXXXX XXX-XXXXX-X-XX These were records taken from my cell phone billing and does not account for calls from my home phone, however it is obvious that there were numerous attempts to rectify the situation with the local franchise. I usually spoke to the girl(s) in the office I believe her name is [redacted] she was always pleasant and helpful. I submitted the information above to the Miracle Method corporate office on [redacted] to the attention of a [redacted] According the complaintProduct_Or_Service: bathroom refinishingDesired SettlementI want my bathroom to be one color and I want the peeling issue repaired properly I also want the warranty honored. I want to be credited for the [redacted] I paid for the tub towards the work and I want any contractor charges I will have to incur to also be credited towards the total respray of the bathroom.Business Response Good Afternoon, This work was done in 2007 by Miracle Method of [redacted] as well as the tile from her plumber work and tub re-do in 2013. We purchased that area in [redacted] of 2013. The warranty (which is on the back of every invoice) states that the warranty is provided by the franchise that performed the work The warranty also states that it is for failure of adhesion, which does not include difference of color. When we purchased that area we walked into the middle of this and out of good faith tried working with her to correct any issues. After going multiple times to fix areas, which the warranty on her surround expired in 2012, we got to the point where it was clearly going to continue to be a problem so we offered a solution of re-doing the tub and all the tile for a cost of [redacted] which would typically cost [redacted] to remove the old coatings and [redacted] to refinish. We have been there 7 times for non warranty and expired warranty issues, that we did not do the work on in the first place but had to pay our technicians to go there. Between paying our technicians, the gas to get there and the cost of materials we have spent a considerable amount of money on a job we did not do and were never paid on. We have gone above and beyond any expectations and at this point there is nothing more we can do for her. Thank you, [redacted]Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)The tub was refinished [redacted] X XXXX, I contacted Miracle Method sometime during the next week regarding the issue of the incorrect color and they came out mid to late [redacted] There were no issues with the shower surround from the original work done in 2007, that was the work where the warranty expired in 2012. The problem I am having with the peeling issue is due to Miracle Method coming to my home in late [redacted] of 2013 and respraying the shower surround to match the tub, causing me to have half the bath one color and half another color. I have combed over the 5 receipts I was given by the technicians that came out and there is nothing about no guarantee on color matching on those receipts. If the current owners purchased the territory in [redacted] of 2013 I can't inagine the process is like going to [redacted] to buy a sweater. Im sure its a process that requires the corporate office involvement and it takes some time to be finalized. They had to be aware that the previous owner was still doing work so those customers are just out of luck, told that the 5 year warranty they thought they had was actually void now? That doesn't even sound legal. Regarding the multiple attempts to repair the peeling, according to [redacted] statement it appears that they know how to fix it but chose not to use the proper method on the first second third or fourth time they came to my home. She states that it is [redacted] to remove the old coating, so there is a correct process to repair which was never used at my home. That was a choice they made. Wouldnt it have made more sense from a business prospective to do it right the first or even the second time? Every time they came to my home I lost the use of my bathroom for 24 hours, had to deal with the toxic smell in my home from the chemicals they used and if I have them come back for the 1k + they want to charge me I also have to hire a contractor to remove my sink, toilet and fixtures. I will also mention that the previous owners used an address of [redacted] and that is the current mailing address used for the current owners on the miracle method website. There is also a telephone number currently listed on the site of XXX XXX XXXX that number appears on my receipts from the previous owner. Also the address of [redacted] is listed in [redacted] land records as a residence owned by [redacted] , the previous franchise owner suggesting there is some connection with the new owner. All of this still doesn't even touch the issue that I still have a bathroom that is 2 colors. There is just no accountability from this organization locally or at the corporate level. I have never dealt with a company that tries so hard to not do the right thing.Final Business Response Attached is a copy of our warranty, which goes over that it is covered by the franchise that did the work as well as color. In regards to the cost to properly correct her job; it would typically cost [redacted] to remove all the coatings and [redacted] to reapply the coatings to her tub and tile. We offered to remove AND reapply the coatings for a cost of [redacted] which she refused. This would have been a discount of [redacted] (over 50%). If you have any other questions, or need any other information, please don't hesitate to contact me.Final Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)The information contained in that warranty that Miracle Method included in [redacted] XX XXXX response was never provided to me at any time during the repair visits that occured from [redacted] 2013 to [redacted] 2015. The only time a copy of that information was provided to me was in the cost estimate to repair the damage to my bathroom, damage I may add that was caused by Miracle Method. [redacted] gave me that estimate on [redacted] Its also a matter of concern that the current owner is using a mailing address that is listed in mass land records as a residence owned by the former franchise owner, [redacted]. The current franchise owner is very quick to push responsibility on the former owner but there appears to be some connection between the current and former owners.
