Mirage Recovery Service Reviews (13)

I am the General Manager at Mirage Recovery Service and make the decisions for how we run our businessOur policy is that a Title has to be transferred into the new owners name (At DMV), which keeps out of a liability situation due to us having confirmation that this is indeed the owner of the vehicle or trailerAlso, in our contracts with the City's Towing contract, it states that it has to be released to the registered owner which would not work if the signature is on the back of a title due to the party not being the registered owner yetThis has been our policy for years and we will not make an exception for party that could potentially put us in a liable situationIt takes a few minutes to go to Motor Vehicle and get this transferred so I am not sure what you expect the outcome to beWe didn't mistreat these customers, we treated them consistent to our contractual obligations and nothing moreIt ultimately comes down to the owners responsibility to have all of their documentation together and they did notWe will not waive any fees for not following our policy.Thank You, [redacted]

No, just the extra tow charge of $That has been and is the issueOct 12, you stated you would refund that fee and asked for a name and address which I provided to youWe have never received a check from you as promisedYou also state that you are trying everything possible to make this situation right? Its now almost mid November, the accident was Aug 14th and all I've asked for is a refund for the extra tow charge that would never of occured had you not closed on our friends trying to recover my husbands motorcycleBecause you closed on them and asked them to leave, your only option that day was to tow it a block away to another yard that was openYou stated prior that you would never of closed on customers in the office...so WHY would we have a second tow charge then and WHY did they pick up the bike at the other tow yard? A refund, not even the full amount, isnt that much to ask forEspecially, when I provided you with a name and address as you requested

Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 10, 2015/12/03) */ We go off of our contracts with cities and do not have any say in how we process stolen vehiclesWe understand that having to pay for your vehicle after it was stolen is a tough pill to swallow but we have so many vehicles coming into our lot daily (majority of stolen) and most have been stripped down so badly that they are now unusableWe always show compassion for stolen vehicles and would work something out with the owner so that they can recover their vehicles since we do not have the space or staff to deal with keeping themWe run a business and do it with the upmost integrity and understand your frustration but you must realize also that if we did them for free, we along with every towing company in the country would no longer be in business

We DO NOT close doors on people and understand that some circumstances are hard to get through but we were more than willing to help her along each and every step. I was making every effort to make this situation right with the complaining party and missed the deadline to respond to yet another request for more of a refund for this situation. I thought the Revdex.com was for both consumers and businesses and after seeing how this process was resolved, I am starting to see that this is not the case. The party said they didn't want anymore action taken and that they were not pleased with our service and I was trying to make it right by going against what we do and giving her a refund. If I am now unable to accomplish this, I guess this is where we will end it.

I read your response after the case has been closed, Mirage Recovery. You state that I asked for 'more' of a refund? No, just the extra tow charge of $68. That has been and is the issue. Oct 12, you stated you would refund that fee and asked for a name and address which I provided to you. We have never received a check from you as promised. You also state that you are trying everything possible to make this situation right? speak to you to find out more to this story.

I am disputing what is said due to the fact that this couple became upset when they were told that their car was not drivable and needed to be towed off of our lot due to liability and they brought a trailer to load it on. My office person stated it wasn't drivable so they parked their truck and...

trailer in front of our gate blocking it so no one could enter or exit. We tow for 6 different police agencies and this is a huge safety and liability concern so I told the gentleman that he needed to move their equipment or we would have the police come over and impound all of their stuff.  the husband was very upset and I was upset that he chose to park in front of our gate so he and I got into an argument.  After we both realized this wasn't going anywhere, I walked back onto the lot to look at their vehicle to see if the car could be driven that short distance. After seeing the rear end pushed into the tires, I told the husband that he could probably drive it but were not taking responsibility for any damage, he then agreed. The husband got into the car after I pulled it to the front of the lot and drove it onto his trailer. The reason their charges were at that rate was for storage at $25 a day so there is nothing I will do about that. Also, they also mentioned that my office lady was rude and disrespectful to them which is ABSOLUTELY false.... If anything, they didn't like what she had to say about the fee's and then decided to go after her based on that, not because of her attitude. I went against our policy allowing them to take their vehicle that was not safe to drive off of the property because of the issue they were causing. I guess trying to help a bad situation causes people to complain even more.
