Similar to the complaint, my wife had contacted Mirasol and started the intake paperwork process in May of 2015. We were informed by our health insurance that they would not cover Mirasol and they were informed that we would not be seeking admittance, and even though we never set foot in the building, they charged $5,500 against our credit card a full 2 weeks before an estimated admittance was supposed to occur. Luckily, we were able to file a claim through the credit card company, as calls trying to resolve the issue were not returned to either myself, or the credit card companies complaint investigator. Do not give this company a single penny until after you are admitted.
I was at Mirasol in 2014, for the last time. I was told after admission that I had to go to AA & NA meetings, on my own time, in my own car, by myself while in their care after being TOLD I have a problem with cannabis. To which, I always said helped me since I do not advocate pharmaceuticals. I was told I was a an addict because of this. My treatment was then focused on substance abuse (which, besides cannabis, I do not use), and the eating disorder was pushed to the back burner. The sexual abuse trauma I was supposed to work on while I was there (why I went to begin with) never got uncovered the entire time I was there, and only later, after being out of treatment and recovering from the trauma that happened inside Mirasol, did my brain allow me to process what happened BEFORE I went into treatment. Needles to say, my stay at Mirasol left me with more trauma than when I came in. I was pushed out of the program that my insurance was paying for, with no aftercare.
