was performed free of charge and at no cost to the home owner.In our defense of the completed work at the [redacted], the original scope of work was to re-point the masonry facade 100% and we also replaced broken bricks as necessary, on "the facade" only. The void/gap that [redacted] is referring to is on the sidewalk, which is a public alley sidewalk consisting of brick pavers that are dry set and abut the building facade that we have performed our work. There are no voids on the wall, the void is on the sidewalk and the sidewalk was not part of our scope. The work according to the provided scope has been completed and has been satisfied, the scope as provided and written was inspected and was signed by city officials in order to receive final payments. Our work is not "shoddy" it was completed according to industry standards and any work that was completed within our provided scope is still intact and in good condition. The alley sidewalk is on the ground and is subject vehicle traffic, all exterior elements and as mentioned, it is comprised of dry set bricks which will move and settle and that is beyond our control.We have been in business for over thirty years and we stand behind our work, this is the first complaint ever generated against us. I don't feel it is a valid complaint with regards to our business nor our business practice and work, but mostly a misunderstanding on the homeowners part of exactly who is responsible for the void in the sidewalk.

I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does satisfy my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint #[redacted]. I understand that by choosing to accept the business response that my complaint will be closed as resolved.  The matter has been resolved.  It would be wonderful if brick houses floated on air but they do not.   Brick houses meet with the sidewalk.  The masonry work Misdea put at the bottom of the brickwork at the sidewalk level cracked and broke off.  I did not ask them to repair the sidewalk.  I asked them to repair the narrow interface where the brick meets the sidewalk.  The work has been done but it took a year and a half of me calling, emailing and finally complaining to get the work done.  Brick work should last 80 to 100 years not a year and a half.  It was shoddy work at the seam of where the brick meets the sidewalk that caused this problem.
