Mission Family Dental

Review: The First time I visited Mission Family Dental I had an assessment done. At that time I was told I needed to have a root canal done, as well as several cavities filled. At that point in time, before leaving the office, I asked how much both the root canal, and the cavities would cost me out of pocket with the dental insurance I had. I was told that the root canal would be 235.00 and the cavities would be 18.00 each. I was satisfied and scheduled an appointment to have the root canal done, as I was told this was the most urgent. The soonest appointment available was about 3 weeks away, so I made the appointment. 3 weeks later I came in to have the root canal done. The work was done, and upon completion, I paid the full 235.00. Before leaving I was asked if I would next like to schedule to have 2 fillings done, as this was as many as the doctor could do at a time. I agreed, and again was sceduled about 3 weeks later. 3 weeks later, on 6/25/13 I arrived for my appointment to have my fillings done. I was called back, had the work done, and then told by office staff nothing else was needed from me at the time (I was having to be referred to a specialist for a extraction). I left at that time, assuming I would be billed for the amount of 36.00, (2 fillings at 18.00 ea.). The next day I recieved a call from Mission Family Dental informing me that because of the specific location of the fillings, and because of the filling material the doctor used, my insurance did not cover any of the bill, and that I owed them 508.00. I explained how I was previously quoted a price of 18.00 per cavity, and never told of any "specific location" or material that was not covered. Mission Family Dental denied ever quoting me such a price and has refused to adjust my bill. I feel Mission Family Dental should have either quoted me the correct price in the first place, or at the very least, let me know that my insurance did not cover the procedure BEFORE I had the work done. Complete SCAM.Desired Settlement: All I am asking of Mission Family Dental is to stand behind the price THEY quoted me. I would like my bill to be adjusted to 36.00, the price I was told I would have to pay for the services provided.
