[redacted] and LIMS negotiated a "settlement" in regard to ALL claims of any nature in consideration of adjusted money paid to usWe have a fully signed and dated "Release Form" by her in FULL SETTLEMENT of any future claim

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved Sincerely, [redacted]

In response to the above referenced complaint, please note that a check for $is being forwarded to [redacted] for any misunderstanding he may have experienced regarding fees associated with the logistics and specific demands of his long distance moveWe are confident that his move was handled in a professional and timely manner and that his final charges were within reason as specified in his original estimate and according to terms which were detailed accordinglyUltimately the cost of his shipment is determined by the actual weight of his shipment which is documented by public scales on interstate movesHis final charges reflect a reasonable differential and the additional $was for additional services not included in his original estimate or within the general terms of a long distance bill of lading contractThese additional services were executed and, as such, we are entitled to charge accordinglyHowever, in the interest of our long-standing reputation for superior customer relations, we are in good faith refunding that charge in full ($300).Please note your records to reflect the sameThank you for your time in this matter and for your continued cooperation.Sincerely,Diane F*Manager

We are in receipt of this shipper’s claim form and it will be processed typically within 4-weeks in accordance to the terms of their contractAttached, please find copy of the estimate the Ruggs received prior to booking their long distance move wherein, fuel charges are explained as the 10%
which they were charged relative to the amount of line-haul which fluctuates based on actual weight of their shipment on the day of their move, as explainedFurthermore, (2) wardrobes cartons are ‘supplied’ complimentary with each move, but packing/labor charge is notThese are provided to the shipper as a courtesy for their use, however, if they request ‘packing’, then scheduled labor charges apply per the terms of the bill of lading they signed at time of pick-upFees for stairs/elevators etcare accessorial charges are also scheduled charges and are stated clearly on bill of lading contract which is provided prior to move for authorization as represented by shipper’s signature throughout. Moreover, these items were discussed initial calls during shipper’s inquiries, but are explicit in all contracts so as to fully inform shippers in writingWe regret any misunderstanding that may have transpired. Please note, for review, I am in the process of attaining another copy of the shipper’s bill of lading receipt with the breakdown of all their charges which they should have already received upon delivery, and will forward it to them as soon as possible.Thank you for your continued intervention in customer relations

Shipper states she is not satisfied with previous compensation offer(s), consequently, at this time, we request that she forward a copy of her original claim for damages and any offers which were unsatisfactory which she received prior to her filing a complaint with Revdex.com. We also request that she state formally what type of compensation she would accept as being 'equitable' so that we that it may be submitted for reviewThank you.-Claims Department

Regarding the above referenced complaint, please note that the shipper, *** *** ***, requested an online estimate, not a visual oneHe was quoted our rates for a (3) man crew and upon booking his move was also sent, via email, a "Confirmation" detailing the rates he was quoted, as well as,
the terms of and conditions of the move, and a confirmation of his move date reservationThe rate for a (3) man crew is $with a (4) hour labor 'minimum' plus a (1) hour 'travel-time' for a minimum 'Base Fee' of $700.00($140/hrx 5hrs)This 'base fee' is the minimum charge and it is clearly stated that all moves are subject to actual time on day of the move charged on a half-hour basis after the 'minimum' is metIn addition to having over 4,000lbs of household goods as documented by our online estimate form which we had him complete, *** *** also requested a considerable amount of packing which included several sets of dishware, as well as, a 'full' kitchen pack-jobThe shipper authorized this packing and the materials as documented by his signatures on all contractual paperwork*** *** was only charged for the time of his move plus a (1) hour travel-time, plus materialsHis charges were commensurate with the size of his move and packingAs for the 20% gratuity he paid the men, this is a non-issue as such a gratuity is customary in any service industry and typically reflects the service a customer feels he has received. With regard to the use of Masonite, Long Island Moving & Storage is fully stocked, well-versed and prepared to use MasoniteIt is typically used in all commercial jobs and on residential jobs where the shipper requests it upon the demands of their building's management company and in accordance with the terms of their lease with their landlord and, or his representativeNeither the shipper nor his management company requested Masonite for *** *** moveHad either of them done so, it would have been a non-issue for us as we are prepared to do so whenever required or requested and at no additional chargeIn fact, we had been in contact with the management company as we provided a certificate of insurance to them in an efficient and timely manner as we routinely doAt any time, had the Masonite been an communicated requirement, it too would have been provided effortlesslyNevertheless, with an interest in completing the job in a professional manner, we doubled back to our warehouse location and returned with the needed MasoniteWe offered to freeze the (3) man crew rate and only charge for (2) men while the third man was retrieving the MasoniteThat would amount to a difference of $($30/hour x(2) hours). We regret that *** *** was not totally satisfied with his moveIn the interest of our continued effort in offering superior customer service, we would like to offer him compensation of $for any misunderstanding, miscommunication, or inconvenience he feels he has experienced

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ***, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:
I understood that the truck could not take the same route as passenger vehicles, therefore I took the same route as the truckI purposely followed the truck for this reason.as far as a claim, I was told to contact the owner as soon as the delivery was complete, which I did, as did my husbandI was told that they would make it right as there was a massive a out of damageI was told to complete claim forms and even spoke to the office the next day in which they told me that they would contact me if they needed more specific information,? I was never contacted, but did contact them myself numerous times to make sure I was following protocol and would be compensatedWe explained that we would contact the Revdex.com of this was don't unfairly and was begged not too, that they would make it right.the compensation awarded from the claim company was not according to contract, which was based on weightThe office informed me that I should deny compensation and it would be reevaluated, which has never been doneI reached out via email and phone numerous times again and was blatantly ignored each timeIt was never reevaluated and no further information wasnever asked for even with my offering, When I denied the small compensation that was not appropriate for the damage even according to contract, I was told it would be sent back in and I would hear a response in a few weeksIt has now been over months and nothing has been taken care ofHopefully by the response time shown here, you can understand my frustration.
If you look at current reviews of the company, many have the same issues, therefore I know this is not the first timeWe have also contacted prior employees who corroborate our story and say they had been told to act in this unprofessional matter. this issue is not resolved and will not be until proper compensation is offered

We were forced to sign the agreement in order to have our items released to usWe had a newborn baby and all of her items were on that truckMost of the damage occurred during the unpacking, which we were assured would not happenWe were assured our items would be treated with careWhether or not the business decides to respond to this claim and refund money to cover the cost of our losses or not, the Revdex.com should be aware of the negligence, lies, and sneaky behavior that this company operates with on a daily basisThey do not deserve the positive Revdex.com rating that they haveEven all of their reviews on *** are negative and many customers had the exact same awful experience that we did

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ***, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:
In response to the moving company's statements: The movers were the only people using the elevator when it brokeThey held the doors open even after the alarm sounded for the doors to be shut As a result, they prevented others from using the elevators and were the only ones at the elevator, holding, and pushing the doors when the elevator brokeThe elevator was working without a problem until midway through the move when the movers pushed the doors all the way inIn addition, the movers are very strong men clearly as they lift furniture all day for a livingThey are strong enough to push the elevator doorsAs a result of the movers' poor judgement in pushing the elevator doors, I lost my security deposit and was charged close to double the price of the actual move as a result of the movers breaking the elevatorThe liability insurance which the company submitted prior to the move includes coverage to the buildingThis liability insurance was submitted to the management office of my former coop and includes up to $100,of coverage for damage to the premisesI have attached a copy of the aforementioned insuranceThe moving company is referring to my personal coverage which I never referred to in my complaintThis company has the liability insurance and means to right this wrong and reimburse me for the mistakes their movers made I am completely dissatisfied with their response and serviceThis company prides itself on customer service and experienced movers which unfortunately were the largest faults I found with this company, if not outright liesI incurred weeks, followed by months of unreturned phone calls and emails, clearly this is extremely poor customer serviceOn the day of our move, we were given one experienced mover and two inexperienced movers, one of whom is responsible for breaking the elevator Their response to our claim appears to be yet another lieI am shocked by the lack of professionalism of this company, it is unacceptable.

We regret that this consumer was not completely satisfied with her moveRegarding the above referenced claim, please review the attached Bill of Lading contract, as well as, the original estimate which was emailed to this shipper prior to her move, wherein all terms, rates and conditions are
clearly stipulated for her review and acceptance as documented by her signatures on all pertinent contractsNO flat rate was ever offeredThe charges were hourly as authorized by shipper and subject to actual time to expedite move which includes labor time from her 5th floor walk up apartment in Manhattan and the traveling time which is relative to traffic conditions in real time from NYC to Suffolk County on Long IslandHer charges were well within reason for a move with her logistics. Please note that while we cannot document a claim that a gratuity was cajoled from the shipper by our employees, tipping is customaryWe do apologize if, however, the shipper felt that she was inconvenienced in any wayOur employees are trained to not discuss gratuities unless requested by the shipperIn addition, if this shipper has a claim of damage, we advise her to complete a claim form which can be found readily on our websiteHer claim will be addressed in a timely manner and in accordance with the terms of her contract. In conclusion, Long Island Moving & Storage apologizes for any misunderstanding, or inconvenience which this shipper feels she has experienced, as our goal is always to maintain the highest level of customer satisfactionThank you. *** *** *** ***

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

Not only is this not an acceptable response but it is an insult.  As a "business"  they should look for customer satisfaction not argue against it.  I made it PERFECTLY CLEAR as stated in the document that this was a 5 floor walk up.  If they did not want to accept the job due to this then they should not have.  They should also not have purposely took extra time to move in order to receive extra compensation as I overheard them saying.  As seen in the photo my furniture was not wrapped, my mattress was dragged down the stairs (as seen in photo) as they stated and my furniture (which is now destroyed) was not disassembled as stated.  As far as their statement Guaranteeing a pleasant move... where was that? They are not a company of their word or standards and this is proof.

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

This is in response to [redacted]'s complaint. We had done a move for her on 8-**-15. She is claiming the men move the elevator doors off the track, that they broke it. She had put in a claim for this. The type of valuation she has it does not cover this. We still submitted the claim to our...

insurance company to see if they would handle this. The insurance company denied this claim. They denied it for the fact that the men could not physically do what they are claiming and other people besides the men were using the elevator throughout the day. The elevator doors are extremely heavy and were probably faulty or old. The landlord is trying to blame the shipper to get money out of them. Which in turn they want to put in a claim so they don't have to pay and make us pay for it....Again, to state our position, we were required to use the elevator to facilitate her move. However, we were NOT given exclusive use of that elevator. Other people were utilizing the same elevator all day. Our movers did not remove the doors of the elevator which is not physically possible to begin with, nor did they jam up the doors. Whatever mechanical condition the elevator was in, is/was unknown to us. We did the best we could do under the circumstances. There may have been a "pre-existing" faulty condition of that elevator to begin with. Whatever the circumstances are, LIM&S is not the culprit!     Also, under the terms of the "valuation" coverage the shipper chose and signed for before the start of the move, she is not typically covered for damage like this, even if we were deemed responsible for said alleged damage. The shipper had a choice (as do all our customers) to select the basic NYS regulated valuation coverage of .30 cents per pound (which is free of charge and come gratis through LIMS), or one of several valuation coverage options which is offered at an additional fee. Example: $10,000. "ACV" coverage at a $150.00 premium fee, or others insurance options that cost accordingly. **Also; shippers personal homeowners coverage may very well cover a move of this nature at no additional cost.    In closing this letter, I hope this clears up the matter with the Revdex.com and shipper. As a side note, LIM&S even submitted this claim several times to our carrier in hopes of some relief for shipper, but as we stated above, this claim is not a valid claim, nor covered under the terms of the coverage Miss Udell chose herself on her moving contract (in writing) even if LIM&S were deemed liable and responsible.

[redacted] and LIMS negotiated a "settlement" in regard to ALL claims of any nature in consideration of  adjusted money paid to us. We have a fully signed and dated "Release Form" by her in FULL SETTLEMENT of any future claim.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved.

[redacted]

In response to the above referenced complaint, please note that a check for $300.00 is being forwarded to [redacted] for any misunderstanding he may have experienced regarding fees associated with the logistics and specific demands of his long distance move. We are confident that his...

move was handled in a professional and timely manner and that his final charges were within reason as specified in his original estimate and according to terms which were detailed accordingly. Ultimately the cost of his shipment is determined by the actual weight of his shipment which is documented by public scales on interstate moves. His final charges reflect a reasonable differential and the additional $300.00 was for additional services not included in his original estimate or within the general terms of a long distance bill of lading contract. These additional services were executed and, as such, we are entitled to charge accordingly. However, in the interest of our long-standing reputation for superior customer relations, we are in good faith refunding that charge in full ($300).Please note your records to reflect the same. Thank you for your time in this matter and for your continued cooperation.Sincerely,Diane F[redacted]Manager

Regarding the above referenced complain#11682467, the consumer was charged as follows:     $3,000.00  Prepayment charged to credit card (...[redacted]) on 8/**/16    -$2,226.00 Actual Charges for services rendered on 8/**/16   ...

_________      [$  774.00] Credit Balance Refunded to same credit card (...1016) on 8/16/16              ------------------------------------------     $4,000.00 Prepayment charged to credit card (...1016) on 8/16/16    -$3,695.00 Actual Charges for services rendered on 8/16/16     ________       [$   305.00] Credit Balance Refunded to same credit card(...1016) on 8/**/16We had tried repeatedly to fax her credit card receipts to her to document what was already stated to her numerous times assuring that the refunds had been issued. Moreover, the final charges were calculated based on actual time, materials used, and labor rates; terms of which were fully disclosed in all correspondence, on-line estimates, and were clearly stipulated on all relevant contracts/paperwork . A 'flat-rate' or 'capped cost' was never contracted for nor discussed, nor is it our policy to do so . Our rates are hourly and are in accordance with all rules and regulations of the moving and storage industry as published by NY State. We regret any misunderstanding or inconvenience the shipper feels they have experienced as customer service is our highest priority. However, all documentation indicates that there was no misrepresentation nor miscalculation on our part in performing a large commercial move for this shipper in accordance with the services and materials she contracted for. We are confident this should clarify any concerns and we thank you for your time and consideration in this matter.

REGARDING THE ABOVE REFERENCED COMPLAINT, IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING THAT THIS CONSUMER WAS ONLY CHARGED FOR HOURS OF SERVICE RENDERED AT TERMS TO WHICH SHE AGREED ACCORDING TO HER SIGNATURES ON ALL PERTINENT PAPERWORK,(BILLS OF LADING, CONTRACTS, ADDENDUMS, ORDERS FOR SERVICE, ETC). SHIPPERS SIGN-OFF...

ON ALL PAPERWORK WHICH INCLUDES ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF HOURS OF SERVICE, MATERIALS USED, ETC. PRIOR TO PAYING THEIR BILL C.O.D. IF THERE WAS ANY DISCREPANCY OF 'TIME',AS STATED,  IT CERTAINLY SHOULD HAVE BEEN ADDRESSED AT THE TIME OF DELIVERY AND NOT THEREAFTER. IT IS ALSO IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT OUR COMMERCIAL STRAIGHT TRUCKS CAN NOT TAKE THE SAME ROUTES AS PASSENGER VEHICLES AND THEREFORE CAN NOT BE COMPARED EQUITABLY REGARDING TO ESTIMATED TRAVEL TIME. HAVING SAID THAT, IF THERE IS A DISCREPANCY ABOVE AND BEYOND WHAT IS REASONABLE, WE WILL MAKE AN ADJUSTMENT ACCORDINGLY AND AS A COURTESY.REGARDING ANY ALLEGED DAMAGES, THEY ARE ADDRESSED THROUGH THE FORMAL SUBMISSION OF A LEGAL CLAIM FORM WHICH IS READILY AVAILABLE ON OUR WEBSITE. [redacted] CLAIM WAS PROCESSED AND SHE WAS OFFERED A SETTLEMENT AMOUNT WHICH WAS AN EQUITABLE OFFER WITHIN THE TERMS OF HER COVERAGE ON HER MOVE DAY.IF SHE DISPUTES THE OFFER OF HER SETTLEMENT SHE CAN DO SO IN WRITING TO OUR CLAIMS DEPARTMENT. AT THIS TIME, WE LOOK FORWARD TO SATISYING THIS COMPLAIN AND SO REQUEST THAT MS. WINTER STIPULATE WHAT SHE FEELS IS EQUITABLE COMPENSATION FOR THE ISSUES SHE HAS DOCUMENTED WITH Revdex.com; KEEPING IN MIND THAT SERVICES RENDERED WERE ON AN HOURLY BASIS AND ACCORDING TO THE SERVICES SHE ORDERED AND THE BINDING TERMS OF HER SIGNED CONTRACT.WE LOOK FORWARD TO [redacted] REPLY. THANK YOU.RESPECTFULLY,DIANE F[redacted]LONG ISLAND MOVING & STORAGE, INC.###-###-####
