DON"T even THINK about using Mission Transportation of San Diego
RUN AWAY from this company. Before you even allow them in your home to do an estimate READ EVERY REVIEW YOU CAN FIND ON THEM. YELP has over 142-and since 2019 not many have been positive. Don't believe BBB ratings. BBB is being paid by these companies and don't really follow up on complaints.
What can you expect from Adam and Steve-
1) they will send their "choir boy" who will tell you want you want to hear and give you a decent price. (I had 3 bids- $29000, $28500 and Allen said they could do its for $25602 and would pay for the TV boxes)
2) You think everything is great until the last piece of furniture is loaded. Then your hit with the new amount. Ours went from $25602 to $42000. When I told them just unload my furniture I was told no. I was told it would be kept ini storage until I paid. I have learned they cannot make you sign anything after the first estimate. And the maximum they CAN charge if your load goes over is 10% of the estimate. Steve will browbeat and threaten you with holding your furniture. DON"T sign or agree to anything.
3) Don't think your furniture will arrive on time. Ours was due 12/9 or 10. Arrived 12/13. And they had used Cross Country to drive. Their driver illegally shook us down for another $4000 in cash stating he couldn't drive the 1/2 mile gravel road and needed to rent a UHaul to shuttle our goods. I found out a UHaul is $39.99 and 79 cents a mile.
4) They do not finish the move. We are now into July and we still have furniture Mission took apart-but has yet to be reassembled.
5) Expect tons of broken and missing items. In fact Mission ran over my water meter, mailbox and dumped a boulder on my driveway when they came to move us. Steve said they would pay the damages. It cost us $980 to fix the meter in order to close on the house. We still haven't seen a dime of that money! The only thing they did was move the boulder off the driveway!
6) Those TV boxes-they never brought them. As a result both Big Screen TVs arrived broken and can't be used. Adam's comment was he would give me the $125 a box (the cost of each box). My comment is it doesn't do any good to pay for something you didn't bother bringing AFTER the TVs were broken because they were not boxed!
7)Mission will ignore all further correspondence with you and lie in their response on the BBB site. Adam said he offered me $1000-NEVER happened.
8) They haven't even acknowledged sending in the damages to their piddly insurance coverage of 60 cents a pound.
9) Our contract said we were too get 35 art/mirror boxes. They brought 13 and shoved all our artwork in these 13 boxes, incurring thousands of dollars of damage to the artwork.
10.)You want an experience like this- then hire Mission. Otherwise-start running the opposite direction NOW!

We explain that for most clients there is a window of delivery that is contingent on other shipments who head to the same locationThe contract indicates that it can take up to days due to the combined loads , while the more average time frame is daysWe did abide this spanWhen I
reminded the client of this when she called in frustration, she was not pleased, and as customers service is extremely important to us, I was able to reroute some other shipments and put her on an earlier truckHer parents seemed okay with this and did not express discomfort or dissatisfaction Regarding the coverage , we explain from the beginning to all our clients that internally we offer the basic coverage of insurance which is cents per pound and do not offer full coverage This internal full coverage option is what is crossed off on the contractIf full coverage is desired, client would need to go through a third party to get full coverage insuranceWe are indeed sending her father some money on a claim at the basic coverage of insuranceWe are her to assist after the move if needed as well.
