Review: On September 24, 2013 I entered your office feeling reluctant and pessimistic about a procedure to remove a discomfort from the right side of my mouth. I provided both my dental and medical insurance to the front desk and asked them to ensure that I was covered for the procedure. Upon entering the medical room I was prepped and soon after informed that I was not covered. I sat up and was ready to leave your office, but it seemed panic had struck you and the medical receptionist that I was leaving. I was asked to sit down and wait for the receptionist to call the second insurance I provided to confirm if I was covered for the procedure. After waiting twenty odd minutes and contemplating doing the procedure on my own the insurance receptionist walked in with a smile on her face and informed me that my insurance would in fact cover all but $97.00 and some odd change. She was given the code 7286. Before the procedure I was asked to sign a document that stated I would owe the $97.00 and with a bad feeling I signed, which in this case I should have went with my gut feeling. I informed you and your staff that I could not afford to pay such a large amount for a procedure I could do on my own. Although painful I could have done it. December rolled around and I received a letter from my insurance company that they would not cover the cost of the procedure. I called your office and informed them that the code they had taken was apparently not for the procedure that was completed. The older woman on the phone was kind and asked that I write the insurance company to reconsider. I informed her again that I could not pay the full amount and asked if the office could do something to help me out. I had not heard anything else about the debt until I was called in the middle of a meeting on May 9, 2014. Out of the blue a rather rude young girl immediately stated that after x amount of attempts to contact me my bill was overdue and would need to be paid quickly. There was not one tone of kindness or understanding in her voice. I was caught off guard, and become upset at her tone and her consistent inability to let me talk. Over my talking she repeated that I needed to pay the debt. She would not allow me to talk and being in the middle of a meeting I decided to end the conversation. On May 19, 2014 I received a nasty letter in the mail stated that your office had attempted to contact me on a number of occasions. Meaning the one conversation I had with [redacted] where I gave her my PO Box number and tried to explain the situation, the situation she had no interest in hearing. In the said, letter I was informed if I did not take action the amount would be sent to collection May 19, 2014. Basically the day I get the letter is the day you turn to collection. After receiving the letter I called your office and asked to speak to the office manager. Apparently you dont have a manager. I retold my story once again that I was assured my procedure was covered before I underwent the process and I had felt lied to. I also informed the person that I wanted to file a complaint about the rude girl I spoke with on May 9th. At the other end the person started asking me if I had said that you and your office had screwed me. I informed her that yes in fact your office and the insurance company were at fault. I informed her I wanted to speak with you directly and asked her who I had spoken with on May 9th. She informed me that she would have you call, but did not give the persons name. I asked her two more times before she stated it was me I asked her what her name was, she stated [redacted] She than informed me I was playing with fire something about hell to pay?????. Her words not mine. A little shocked and caught off guard again, I began to tell her that she was a rude individual and then heard a click in the middle of my sentence.Desired Settlement: I would like an apology and [redacted] replaced.
