The "technician" only spent about minutes cleaning our ductshe wrote on the bill that he hand cleaned and brushed and vacuumed the plenum unitI didn't know what that was until I researched it, after which I realized that he did not They also advertised a free dryer vent cleaning, free deodorizing, and register cleaningI didn't get that, because I needed vents or moreThe ad did not specify or more ventsIt was very misleading
Their service was quick, honest, and professional A huge thank you to Michael and Adam who serviced the ducts of our new home, never done by the previous owners They used professional tools, and delivered excellent results They also gave honest and accurate advice about the condition of our HVAC and dryer ducts
The technician examined my dryer vent hose and stated that I need a new one and showed me the inferior quality one that I had. Fair enough. He also stated that the new vent and hose would total $159.00. While he went to the warehouse to get the parts, I called the Air Pure Inc office to ask if this was the correct price and the woman answering the phone stated that they do not have price lists in the office (So I am guessing the technicians get to make up their own prices in the field).
The technician was efficient in replacing the old vent hose and doing the vent installation but afterwards I checked the prices for the same parts at Lowe's and found that the hose was only around $15 for the hose and around $8 for the vent!
I definitely feel scammed and although they may have taken my money this time, I won't be doing my thorough vent cleaning with Air Pure Inc. I will also let as many people as possible know that technicians can apparently make up their own prices in the field.
I hired them for the air duct cleaning w/free dryer vent cleaning and they hopefully did all they said they were doing, cleaning entire system etc. as the charge was $450.00 but they did give me a seniors discount so new total was $400.00 but they neglected to clean drier vents and for that amount of money should have cleaned my car also.
