Improperly cleaned chimney, along with causing damage to chimney screen. Refuses to return and clean properly and fix damage.
On Feb. 2, 2018, I hired Mister Chimney to clean my chimney and fireplace. The owner of the company, ***, arrived to do the job. During the course of cleaning the chimney, he blasted the protective screen off the top of the chimney. This was witnessed by my neighbor, who was outside when it blew off, and showed both the owner of Mister CHimney and myself the screen.
*** said he would come back to replace it when the weather was better. I paid him $120 cash, for which I have a receipt.
The next day, when we attempted to use our fireplace, we were almost smoked out of our house. A high amount of smoke and fumes came back into the house, and we had to open all our windows for a couple of hours. We called Mister Chimney to tell him the chimney was obviously not cleaned properly.
He promised he would return on a day when the weather wasn't bad to clean the chimney and fireplace and restore the screen. He expressed concern about getting a ladder that went high enough to reach our chimney but said he'd either get "one of the young guys to do it," or get a cherry-picker or scaffolding.
Again, this all occurred in Feb. 2018. It is now Oct. 3, 2018 and I have made repeated phone calls and sent repeated texts to the owner, ***, in an attempt to pin down a date he would come to do the job properly and fix the damage he caused. I was given many excuses, including that he was too busy, I was not a priority, and he didn't have insurance for his workers.
He offered to give me my money back, but I have not received a refund.
Seeing that we have experienced many months of nice weather when he could have completed the job, I made one last attempt to contact him today, Oct. 3, 2018. He again told me I was not a priority. I told him I'd just like a refund, at which point he told me to go ahead and "bad mouth him on the Internet" or "take him to court." He then hung up on me.

Desired Outcome

I would like a refund of the $120 for the work that was not done properly, plus $25 to replace the ruined screen, which was caused by the company.

Very clear and straight forward. Would consider it a pleasure to deal with Mr. Chimney again. We will be telling our friends.
