Mitchell's Heating & Air Conditioning Service Reviews (2)

Review: When the system was installed it took 4 weeks. I was told it would only take 1 week. When we started having problems with the system, about 1 1/2 months later, we called Mitchell's. 8 weeks later the problems still are not resolved. I keep getting the run around, being told that they need to bring the boiler company rep out, that they are too busy and my issues are not important if I still have heat and once again that they are trying to get a hold of a rep to set up a time to come out. Well, today I contacted the boiler company's representative and was told that Mitchell's has never requested that they come out and look at the boiler. After describing the problems I am having, the rep agreed that the boiler was never set up properly and is coming out and to set it up correctly. Some of the problems come from an in line gas regulator being too close to the unit. Mitchell's knew about this 3 weeks ago and still has done nothing to remedy the problem. When I called last week I was told that the amount of gas I was using was correct and that I don't know what I am talking about and that because it is the holiday's I would just have to wait. All this time I am going through LP gas at an alarming rate. I have been beyond patient. The install was not done in a timely manner, the install was not properly done and request for the issues caused by Mitchell's install to be fixed have not been resolved. I am heating a 1750 sq. foot house that is 14 years old. So far I have gone through a tank and a half of gas. From my research I have come to the conclusion that I should have gone through that amount of gas during the whole heating season not in 3 months of a six month season. This company has left us hanging both through the install and now with following up with and properly remedying the issues with the boiler system.Desired Settlement: I would like to be reimbursed for a tank of gas. $657.00.

Review: In 2004 constructed a 40x60 foot garage. We contacted Mitchell's Heating and Cooling to install an in floor heating system. We trusted that they would install it correctly. For years, it didn't seem to heat as it should.we had Mitchell's here, he thought two in floor loops were installed backwards so he reversed the connections. I lived with it but was not convinced the problem was resolved. In 2011 the quiet side boiler heat exchanger corroded and quit working.Called Mitchell's, he said the boiler had to be replaced and could not warrantee it. I called Quietside, they said there was a recall and it would be replaced at no charge. I called Mitchell's back and told him what Quietside told me. Mitchell's received the new boiler and installed it for an installation fee that I believe was unreasonable. We paid it and thought we had a new furnace installed correctly. After four years of playing with the two heating zone thermostats to maintain correct heat in the shop, thinking the thermostats were reversed. The boiler went out again. I called another heating company to look at my situation. They told me a pump was bad. I bought a new pump. While replacing the pump, It seemed to me the pump I was replacing was installed backwards! I called a third heating company. This serviceman seemed to know his stuff. He found I was correct. The boiler was installed incorrectly. Both pumps were installed backwards pushing water the wrong direction thru the boiler. The Manufacturer Requires a primary recirculation loop for the water line. This was never installed.I believe because of these problems there was never correct flow thru all of the heating loops in the floor causing the boiler run more. I believe lines froze in the floor where there was insufficient flow. I still believe the heating supply and return loops are not right.Desired Settlement: I believe Mitchell's should reimburse me $1661.25 it cost to make these repairs plus what he charged to install it incorrectly.
