My experience with IJL started out well enough - Heather G*** was the sales rep and she was very fun and bubblyI was hesitant but she ended up winning my business and I signed up for the $2,dating service for the new city I had just moved to the month before, so that makes this time period the first week of July for those of us that like timeline
Heather was great, but then came Marie A my dating directorShe got me excited by telling me they already had matches that fit what I was looking for and vice versa and "to put on my dancing shoes," there will be a lot of datesUnfortunately, I was being bullied into matches that did not fit my criteria and I was uncomfortable speaking up about itFinally I did but again, felt pressured to still "give them a chance because you never know." While that might be true, I just paid them almost $to set me up with men I find to be quality...I ended up asking to have another dating director because Maria never responded to my calls or emails
It's now August 22nd - dates have been had and manager conversation with Kim about wanting a refund has happened but she talked me into taking Bianka insteadNext up, Bianka C, my new dating director - at least this one sent me an email with her phone number and email addressI had to reach out to Heather, to get Marie's contact informationSo, that was a better startFinally, Sept5th I got my first dateI was so excited and filled with anticipation, I just knew this company had set me up with someone greatMan I was really way to excited about this company than it was for my own good because, in walks my dateHe is at least a few inches shorter than me, does not have the educational background I said was a (deal breaker), works jobs - mechanic, bartender, and bus boy - sooooo, needless to say not the career requirements I spoke them about either which was listed as another "deal breaker" (their term)This guy even called me by the wrong nameI didn't need to go to this dating service, I could have found this guy trolling around Match.comI left feedback from my dating director and she said she would find me a better match...Keep in mind now, I have to contact this company, they're not contacting me - doesn't matter if you leave voicemails or send emails, it's hard to get any response from themFinally, when I don't hear back from her I send her a message saying I'd really just like refund, the service isn't working out and obviously the dates are not qualityThat got a responseShe called and told me she had the best match ever and that she was really excited about this one and just knew it'd be betterI agreed to give it a shot and sent her for the second time all of my availability dates - these dating directors are notoriously unorganized, you will send them information and repeat yourself constantly
Guys - it's November 2nd, I'm finally get my second dateHe was described to me as a top executive for a shopping company they were not allowed to share with me and that he also had a degree and that he was taller than meThe lived with his parents, didn't have a job but use to manage a gas station and he showed up minutes late for our dateBeautiful
I provided feedback to Bianka once again but she never followed up with me - not once to talk about how that date wentI didn't even get an email back saying at the very least she had received my feedbackIn that email I told her that it had been made very clear to me that this company was not able to follow through on it's services they promised medates in the span of months that were not quality is not reliable in my opinionThe kept saying it's not about quantity, it's about qualityThis we can agree on, but when the quantity is low as well as the quality, there is an issue with your serviceIn that email I also expressed that I was upset with the customer service - why could not one ever get back to me or keep me in the loop on how things were going or where they were at in finding new matches? I don't think it's an odd requestWhen you work with this company they don't provide you anything tangible, no consumer online portal or anything - you simply have to rely on the dating director to call or email you when they get around to it - if they even remember you existFor a third time, I asked for a refund, this time as plain as day and in writing that was on November 4th
Nov7th comes and Bianka emails and calls me to let me know she'd like to schedule some time to talk about my last date and my concernsI called her back in less than minutes and had to leave a voicemailI replied to her email letting her know I was available now and she could call any time that day or during the rest of the week as well, "just give me a call back when you have time." In hindsight, I probably should have not said, "when you have time" because I didn't hear back from her at all in NovI had to reach out to her again in writing on Nov30th via emailI finally got to speak with Bianka on December 2ndShe gave it her best shot - these people are sales people, they're really good and make it very difficult to say no to - but in a way it's kind of terrible what they're doing when you think about it (with regards to their sales tactics) - they're preying on the hopes of someone that wants to find love and that's something that's hard to say no to, even if you're getting bad service and terrible customer support - I guess I also felt like I had invested a lot of time into it too, which can be hard to walk away from, but I had had enoughI finally had to just tell her I couldn't do itAfter what I'd been through with the poor, unorganized services and terrible dates, I couldn't do business with them anymoreShe was polite and let me know someone would reach out to me in hours and they didWhat comes next will make your blood boil - do not do business with this company if you like your sanity and money
Today is Dec6th - months, non quality dates, switch in dating directors, phone call with a manager and here we are, on the verge of righting the wrong and being refunded...or so I thought
Here is today's story and why I will never work with this company ever again and I'll tell anyone that will listen to not use it eitherBefore, I would have just wrote a review saying I was disappointed in the services and don't think it works and I'd comment on the disorganization of the staff & untimely responses - today changed thatToday threw me into a rage over the way I was spoken to and treated
Dec6th - Phone Call, "The Manager of the Wichita Region" - aka "The Only Person I Could Speak To"
The women I spoke with claimed to be the only manager in the area and told me I would not be receiving a refundWhen I asked her why, she told me that the company makes the decision on whether or not to give a refundI asked, "Well could we ask the company to give a refund?" and she said noAgain, I had to ask her whyShe said "they" have already made the decision to not give a refundI wanted to talk about this - I didn't understand how "they" could make a decision on this without talking to me before deciding this - I wasn't allowed toAs I was speaking and trying to make that point, she jumped down my throat telling me that company wide, no one gets a refundI'm not entitled to it and per the contract I signed I had days from the date of signing the document to receive a refund[UM days? I can't even get this company to call me back in a day time period - how in the world could I be expected to know any of this would happen in that timeframe? How would it be possible to know I would NEED a refund due to this company's incompetence and lack of ability to preform their jobs successfully? I didn't siwith this company because I wanted a refund, I signed up with them because I wanted their service - when they couldn't provide what they promised, I requested my money backHonestly, they should be charged for wasting my time and putting me through this nonsense with themHow you just provide me a refund IJL and I won't charge you for the undue duress I'm experiencing because of your staff?]
This women started out by making fake apologies (ex: I'm sorry YOU feel that way) continued this nightmare of a call by going round and round with me and basically bullying me - she spoke over me, interrupted me, never once apologized for the way I was treated by the staff, lack of customer support, disorganization of the staff, lack of services in general, and overall incorrect matching - they broke at a minimum at least deal-breaker of mine on every date (haha, I wrote "every date" - there were datesTwo.) - Just so you understand, they ask you to tell them your "deal breakers" before they match you so they will know what you are not willing to compromise onThey say they will not match with people that fit the description of your deal breakers and if they present you with someone that they think will be good but does have a deal breaker, they will tell you firstI was never told and they actually misrepresented my match-
Towards the end of this woman's ranting and inability to let me speak or to be heard, she began yelling company policy at me, and I do mean yelling - to the point where I was trying several times to stop her and what did the trick was saying "can you hear me."
Want to know this classy woman's response? She said, "You know I can hear you." I asked her why then would she not stop yelling at me and listen to what I need to sayShe then told me I was rude because I was trying to speak to her, that I was interrupting herI calmly, and calm was a hard thing for me at this point, told her that I was trying to save her time and myself time because what she was telling me was not the issue and would not help move the conversation along
She became so belligerent that I finally had to request to speak to someone else - to which she told me noShe would not do thatShe was the manager and the only one I could speak to - I guess that means Kim, the manager I spoke to when I switched dating directors is no longer a manager? Weird because her email still works - I know, I just emailed her all of this
The call ended after about minutes when SHE HUNG UP ON MEI CANOT BELIEVE someone could be so callus and inappropriate with their customerI'm in shockI'm in a rageI can barely speak I am so angry right nowHow dare IJL treat me this wayWords can not express my utter shock and anger right now
I called her backShe answeredI greeted by saying, you just hung up on meShe told me she did because we weren't getting anywhere and that she would love to have me as a client but there are not refundsI told her I thought that was funny, "that she wanted me as a customer" but she hung up on me - not what I'd really consider doing what you can to resolve a bad situation and keep your customer...but then again I'm obviously not considered an actual person with actual feelings to the people at this company
I asked once again to speak with someone else"No." - what in the world?! Just no??? This is a huge corporation, and I can't talk to anyone else? Apparently this woman is the end all be all in the company and has "absolute power." Wow Why would I not want to talk to someone else and why in the world would she want to continue to talk to me?? - she clearly does not like me, has no interest in working with me, can't communicate with me and lacks the professionalism and grace it takes to resolve client issuesI guess it made her feel good about herself to yell and barred me
Now I'm upset and I can no longer deal with this woman or the way she is talking to meI asked again "is there really no one else that I can talk to about this?" She finally said, "What do you want to talk to them about" and as you might have guess, she stayed true to her character and while I was answering her inappropriately rude question, she interrupted me, got loud, and said "Fine - I'll have someone else call you and they will tell you the exact same thing, you can't have a refund, goodbye."
I can't even begin to understand what would possess this women to be so angry - I don't even want to know why ANY company would hire someone like this
I'm pretty sure I will not be getting a refund - I'm pretty sure no one will ever call me back or return an email to meI literally have no idea what I can do in this situationNow I don't even have the option of working with this company because of this last encounter - I'm basically getting $stolen from meIt's a wonder how people like this and companies that allow their customer to be treated this way sleep at night
